                    Introduction
                       Einleitung

Under the S-One brand, we will organise a Festival in
Stuttgart, similar to the S-One Expo held in Singapore
                         in 2012.

Unter der Marke S-One veranstalten wir ein Festival in
Stuttgart, ähnlich der S-One Expo in Singapur im Jahr 2012.

a. The 2012 S-One Expo held in Singapore was attended and opened by Singapore’s
   President Dr. Tony Tan and by Stuttgart’s Lord Mayor Dr. Wolfgang Schuster. The
   German Ambassador to Singapore Frau Angelika Viets was the guest of honour at
   the closing gala dinner attended by more than 500 guests.

b. The 2012 S-One Expo was held over a month-long period to showcase the various
   aspects of Stuttgart’s history, arts, culture, cuisines, businesses and tourist
   attractions to Singaporean visitors. The 2012 S-One Expo saw an overall attendance
   of about 150,000 visitors.

c. We followed up on the 2012 S-One Expo by being the exclusive sponsor for the
   Stuttgart Ballet performances in Singapore in 2014 and 2017 at the Esplanade. We
   have also been instrumental in the student exchange program between Dillmann
   Gymnasium and Raffles Institution.

                                      Background
                                        Hintergrund

a. Die S-One Expo in Singapore im Jahr 2012 wurde von Singapurs Präsident Dr. Tony Tan und
   Stuttgarts Bürgermeister Dr. Wolfgang Schuster besucht und eröffnet. Die deutsche
   Botschafterin in Singapur, Frau Angelika Viets, war Ehrengast bei dem Abschlussgala-Dinner
   mit mehr als 500 Gästen.

b. Die S-One Expo 2012 wurde über einen Monat lang in Singapur abgehalten, um die
   verschiedenen Aspekte von Stuttgarts Geschichte, Kunst und Kultur, regionalen
   Spezialitäten, Unternehmen und Touristenattraktionen zu präsentieren. Die S-One
   Expo 2013 verzeichnete eine Besucherzahl von ca. 150000 Besuchern.

c. Darüber hinaus waren wir exklusiver Sponsor der Aufführungen des Stuttgarter Ballets
   im Esplanade Singapur in den Jahren 2014 und 2017. Wir waren auch maßgeblich an
   dem Schüleraustausch zwischen dem Dillmann Gymnasium, Stuttgart und der Raffles
   Institution Singapur beteiligt.

     Overview
       Überblick

As a mirror to the 2012 S-One Expo, the new festival in
Stuttgart will showcase Singapore’s history, arts, culture,
cuisines, education, businesses and tourist attractions to
the people of Stuttgart. Since Singapore has a
predominantly Chinese culture, we will include certain
    elements of Chinese traditions, arts and culture.

Als Gegenveranstaltung zur S-One Expo 2012 in
Singapur, soll das geplante Festival in Stuttgart die
Geschichte Singapurs, Kunst und Kultur, Küche, Bildung,
Firmen und touristische Attraktionen den Menschen in
Stuttgart vorgestellt werden. Da Singapur eine
vorwiegend chinesische Kultur hat, werden wir auch
bestimmte Elemente chinesicher Traditionen, Kunst und
                Kultur mit einbeziehen.

                     Highlights
                       Highlights

This festival will be interesting to Stuttgart’s residents
and visitors because it would include the following
               elements and components:

und Besucher zu gestalten, sollen folgende Elemente
                 angeboten werden:

a.
A photographic “time corridor” to display the history
of Singapore and to tell the story of how Singapore
grew from a small fishing village to a world-class
metropolitan city; Singapore’s relationship with
Germany through the years will also be portrayed
through archived photographs and old documents.

          Eine Foto-Ausstellung, die die Geschichte Singapurs vom
          kleinen Fischerdorf zu einer Metropole von Weltrang zeigt.
          Die Verbindung zwischen Singapur und Deutschland über
          die Jahre soll durch eine Ausstellung alter Fotografien und
          alten Dokumente präsentiert werden.

b.
A multimedia exhibition will also showcase how
Singapore’s public policies had transformed a
resource-scarce island into an ecologically friendly
garden city with a harmonious multiracial and
multi-religious society. Some of the green initiatives
and sustainability policies in Singapore, including
those related to environmental, social and cultural
sustainability, will be of special interest to the
Stuttgart community which is also highly
“sustainability conscious”.

          Eine multimediale Ausstellung soll zeigen, wie Singapurs
          Politik sich verändert hat. Eine Insel mit wenig
          natürlichen Resourcen hat sich zu einer ökologisch
          freundlichen Gartenstadt gewandelt, in der viele
          verschiedene Kulturen und Religionen friedlich
          miteinander leben. Einige der ökologischen Initiativen
          und Nachhaltigkeitspolitik in Sinapur sind für Stutgart
          ebenso von besonderem Interesse.

A food court with a wide variety of food stalls offering
authentic and delicious Singaporean and Chinese
food and delicacies prepared by chefs flown in from
Singapore such as satay, chili crab, laksa, chicken rice
and a variety of desserts.

           Ein “food court” mit einer breiten Palette an
           authentischen Speisen aus Singapur und China soll den
           Besuchern präsentiert werden. Hierzu werden Köche aus
           Singapur Spezialitäten wie Satay, Chilli Crab, Laksa,
           Chicken Rice und verschiedenste Nachspeisen zubereiten.

d.
An “education and culture” booth, with videos showing
Chinese influence such as Confucius and Lao Tze (some of
the great traditional philosophers, not unlike Hegel and
Schiller), the impact of western influence on the
modern-day school system, with a highlight on the
student exchange program between Dillmann
Gymnasium and Raffles Institution.

           In einem Stand für “Bildung und Kultur” zeigen wir mit
           Hilfe von Video-Präsentationen der Einfluss von
           Confucius und Lao Tze (einige der traditionellen
           Philosophen) auf das moderne Schulsystem.

A display of traditional arts like Chinese wood
carving, Chinese calligraphy, Chinese tea
appreciation and embroidery.

                Dillmann-Gymnasium

A marquee tent will be built to house a “festival hall”
with various display/ showcase/ food booths, a
performance stage, tables and chairs for visitors to sit
down to eat, and to spend time visiting each booth
          and to enjoy the performances.

Das Veranstaltungszelt wird als “Festival Halle” mit
verschiedenen Themenbereichen gestaltet. Ebenso
sollen hier die Besucher sich mit Essen und Trinken
stärken sowie den verschiedenen Aufführungen zusehen.

There will be no charge for entrance to the festival
hall and all donations to the Dillmann Foundation
                   are welcome.

Der Eintritt in das Festival Zelt ist kostenlos. Spenden
     an die Dillmann Stiftung sind willkommen.
