ESCHBORNER FACHTAGE Mehr Mobilität, die zunehmende Migration und der digitale Wandel beschleunigen politische, soziale und ökonomische Prozesse: Durch die Globalisierung steigt die Bedeutung von Verkehr und Infrastruktur. Gleichzeitig zeigt der Klima- wandel Grenzen auf und erfordert nachhaltige und um- weltfreundliche Konzepte. In einer mobileren Welt strömen immer mehr Menschen vom Land in die Stadt, von einem Kontinent zum anderen. Digitale Innovationen verbinden Zentrum und Peripherie, Käufer und Verkäufer und erleich- tern den Wissenstransfer. Politische Umbrüche in der Welt zeigen das Potenzial für Veränderung und Teilhabe durch digitale Medien. So stehen Staat, Gesellschaft und Wirt- schaft vor grenzüberschreitenden Herausforderungen, die neue, vernetzte Lösungen erfordern. Wie wird eine zunehmende Mobilität weltweit zum Motor und nicht zum ökologischen Risiko? Wie entsteht durch Migration ein „Triple Win“, so dass einzelne Menschen, die Aufnahme- und die Herkunftsländer profitieren? Welche politischen, gesellschaftlichen und wirtschaftlichen Ver änderungen werden durch moderne Kommunikation und technische Errungenschaften möglich? Wie wirken diese Neuerungen auf Reformprozesse, auf Transparenz und Partizipation? Wir laden Sie ein, diese Fragen mit uns bei den Eschborner Fachtagen zu diskutieren. Die Veranstaltung findet bei der GIZ in Eschborn statt: Dag-Hammarskjöld-Weg 1–5, 65760 Eschborn.
ON 17 AND 18 JUNE 2014, GIZ IS HOSTING THE 17TH ESCHBORN DIALOGUE Greater mobility, increasing migration and digital change are accelerating the pace of political, social and economic processes. Transport and infrastructure are also becoming more important as a result of globalisation. At the same time, climate change is showing us where our limits lie, and challenging us to respond with sustainable, environ- mentally friendly strategies. In our more mobile world, growing numbers of people are moving from rural areas to urban centres, and from one continent to another. Digital innovations connect the centre with the periphery, bring buyers and sellers together, and make knowledge transfer easier. Political upheavals across the world have shown us the potential for digital media to stimulate change and enable participation. The state, society and the private sector are now facing transnational challenges that re- quire new, interconnected solutions. How can we ensure that greater mobility will help drive progress around the globe and not become an ecological risk? How can migration bring about a ‘triple win’ situation that benefits individuals, their host countries and their countries of origin? What political, social and economic changes will be possible thanks to modern communica- tion and technical achievements? What impact do these innovations have on reform processes, transparency and participation? We invite you to discuss these issues with us at the Eschborn Dialogue.
