"The idea: in the beginning was a blanket or
rather a two-dimensional swatch of fabric. In a
matter of seconds, we created an object by
turning and folding, a spur-of-the-moment sculp-
ture. A simple, rational procedure aiming at
both seizing and freezing the spontaneous action
such as folding, captured the instant thus giving
form to an emotional quantum: the Bundle Sofa.

Die Kunst der Kombination.
Vermutlich hatten die Gestalter den Aperitif
oder die Konversation im Salon vor Augen, als
sie 1957 diesen kleinen Sessel entwarfen. So
ausgesprochen leichtfüßig und charmant kommt
der Lady’s Chair 375 daher. Besonders einla-
dend und fein sind die neuen Varianten für Sofa,
Sessel, Barstuhl & Co.: Sitz und Rückenschale
können kombiniert in Stoff und weichem Nappa-
leder bezogen werden.

The designers had presumably imagined a shared
aperitif or a conversation in the salon when
they came up with this small armchair in 1957. The
Lady’s Chair 375 has a light-footed and charm-
ing air. Particularly inviting are the new variants –
sofa, armchair, barstool & co.: the seat and back
shell can be covered in a combination of fabric
and soft nappa leather.

NATURAL TREASURES Massive Gebirgszüge, scheinbar endlose Wüsten-
landschaften, farbenprächtige Seen: Afrika ist reich
an Landschaften – und an verborgenen Schätzen.
In den Tiefen der Erde haben sich über Jahrmillionen
Mineralien, Kristalle und Edelsteine entwickelt –
hunderte Kilometer unterhalb der Erdkruste. Sie
sind Kunstwerke der Natur: faszinierend, schil-

die Seidenteppiche von Walter Knoll. Um die

kostbarsten Materialien in Frage: Seide. Mit ihrem
wunderbaren Schimmer und geschmeidig-weichen
Griff gestaltet die feine Textilfaser Teppichbilder

landscapes, colorful lakes: Africa is rich in land-
scapes, and hidden treasures. Minerals, crystals and
precious stones have developed over millions of
years in the depths of the Earth, hundreds of kilo-
meters under its surface. They are natural works
of art: fascinating, shimmering and precious – ele-
gant valuables that reflect and absorb light in a
unique way.
These natural African treasures were the inspiration
behind the silk carpets by Walter Knoll. Only one of
the most valuable materials on Earth could be used
to express the beauty of the precious stones shaped
by the elemental forces of Earth: silk. With their
wonderful shimmer and soft-to-the-touch feel, the
