Mithilfe dieses Lan Adapters können Sie Ihr Nintendo Wii über seinen USB- Anschluss mit einer festverdrahteten Breitband-Internetverbindung verbinden. Anschluss und Konfiguration sind ganz einfach. Bitte nehmen Sie sich ein paar Momente, um sich mit dem Inhalt dieser Anleitung vetraut zu machen und somit eine problemlose Installation zu gewährleisten. 2. Lieferumfang Stellen Sie bitte sicher, dass die folgenden Teile alle vorhanden sind. Sollte eines der Teile fehlen, setzen Sie sich bitte mit Datels Kundendienst (s. Abschnitt 4) in Verbindung. • 1 x LAN Adapter-Gerät (mit angeschlossenem USB-Kabel) • 1 x Ethernet-Kabel • 1 x Benutzerhandbuch 3. Anschluss und Konfiguration 3.a. Anschluss Ihres LAN Adapters an Ihr Wii und festverdrahtetes Netz Verbinden Sie Ihren LAN Adapter über einen freien USB-Anschluss mit Ihrem Wii. Auf der anderen Seite des LAN Adapter befindet sich ein Ethernet-Anschluss zur Verbindung mittels des mitgelieferten Ethernet-Kabels an Ihr bestehendes hartverdrahtetes Breitbandnetz. Verbinden Sie Ihren LAN Adapter mit einem freien Ethernet-Anschluss an Ihrem Hub/Schalter/Router. WICHTIG: Damit Ihr LAN Adapter von Ihrem Wii erkannt werden kann, muss der Adapter an einen USB-Anschluss an Ihrer Wii-Konsole angeschlossen sein, ehe Sie Ihre Konsole starten. Falls Sie den LAN Adapter mit Ihrem Wii verbinden, während die Konsole eingeschaltet ist, müssen Sie Ihr Wii neu starten, damit es den LAN Adapter erkennen kann. 3.b. Anforderungen für Ihr existierendes Netz Damit Ihr Wii in der Lage ist, Ihre festverdrahtete Breitband-Internetverbindung zu nutzen, stellen Sie bitte sicher, dass Ihr Netz folgendermaßen konfiguriert ist: Anmerkung: Es ist nicht wichtig, dass Sie die folgenden Posten verstehen. Wenn ein Gerät wie ein PC oder Laptop in Ihrem Netzwerk ohne besondere Konfiguration über ein Ethernet-Kabel mit dem Internet verbunden werden kann, wird wahrscheinlich auch Ihr Wii diese Internetverbindung nutzen können.
• Sie schließen Ihr Wii an ein Breitband-Modem/-Router an, die eine ‘immer
aktive‘ Internetverbindung bieten.
• Ihr Netz enthält ein Gerät (wahrscheinlich Ihr Modem/Router) das konfiguriert
wurde, um als DHCP zu fungieren und dem Wii automatisch eine IP-Adress
zuweist.
• Fall Ihr Netz einen Hardware- oder Software-Firewall enthält, muss er
konfiguriert werden, um dem IP-Adressenbereich, der Ihrem Wii zugewiesen
wurde, Zugang zum Internet zu gestatten.
Sollten Sie Zweifel haben, ob die Konfiguration Ihres festverdrahteten Netzes die
oben genannten Anforderungen erfüllt, ziehen Sie bitte die Dokumentation Ihrer
Netzwerk-Hardware zu Rate.
3.c. Konfiguration Ihres Wii zur Nutzung des LAN Adapters
Die Konfiguration des Setup der Wii-Konsole zur Nutzung Ihrer festverdrahteten
Internetverbindung könnte kaum einfacher sein. Folgen Sie bitte diesen
abgebildeten Schritten, um die Konfiguration durchzuführen:
Wählen Sie ‘Wii Optionen’, dann ‘Wii Wählen Sie die Option ‘Internet’ auf der

3.d. Was tun, falls Ihr Wii den Verbindungstest verfehlt
Da am eigentlichen LAN Adapter keine Konfiguration ausgeführt wird, sollten Sie
folgende Punkte überprüfen, falls Ihr Wii den Verbindungstest beim Setup verfehlt:• Ihr LAN Adapter muss mit Ihrem Wii verbunden sein, ehe Sie die Konsole
einschalten – führen Sie einen Neustart Ihrer Konsole aus, mit dem LAN
Adapter bereits angeschlossen.
• Stellen Sie sicher, dass Ihr festverdrahtetes Netz funktionsfähig ist – testen
Sie die Verbindung mit einem PC oder anderem Netzwerkgerät, wenn möglich.
• Prüfen Sie, dass der LAN Adapter fest mit dem USB-Anschluss an Ihrem Wii
verbunden ist, und dass er mit dem mitgelieferten Ethernet-Kabel fest an
Ihren Router/Schalter/Modem angeschlossen ist.
Weitere Problembehebung
Sollte nach Überprüfen der oben genannten Punkte Ihr Wii sich noch immer nicht
verbinden, liegt die Ursache an der Konfiguration Ihres Netzwerks. Informieren Sie
sich bitte in der Dokumentation Ihrer Netzwerk-Hardware.
4. Nutzung Ihres LAN Adaptes
Nach seiner Konfiguration (s. vorherigen Abschnitt) bietet der LAN Adapter von Datel
eine nahtlose Verbindung mit Ihrer festverdrahteten Internetverbindung und Zugang
zu allen Online-Diensten auf Ihrem Wii.
Kommunikationslichter
Der LAN Adapter verfügt über zwei integrierte Lichter, die über den Status der
Kommunikation informieren. Das Licht rechts (beim Ethernet-Anschluss) zeigt
Ethernet-Verkehr an, während das Licht links den Verkehr am USB-Anschluss
anzeigt.
Anmerkung: Gelegentlich wird weder das Ethernet- noch das USB-Licht leuchten;
das ist ganz normal und bedeutet nur, dass keine Daten übertragen werden.

This LAN Adapter allows you to connect your Nintendo Wii to a wired broadband Internet connection via your Wii’s USB port. Setup and operation is very straight forward. Please take a few moments to familiarise yourself with the contents of this manual to ensure trouble-free installation. 1. Introduction Félicitations ! Setup and Configuration 3.a. Connecting your LAN Adapter to your Wii and Wired Network Connect your LAN Adapter to your Wii by means of a free USB port on your Wii console. The other side of the LAN Adapter has an Ethernet port ready for you to connect to your existing wired broadband network using the supplied Ethernet cable. Connect your LAN Adapter to a free Ethernet port on your hub/switch/router. IMPORTANT: For your LAN Adapter to be recognised by your Wii, the adapter must
be connected to a USB port on your Wii console before you boot your console.
If you connect your LAN Adapter to your Wii whilst the console is switched on, you
will need to re-boot your Wii in order for it to detect the LAN Adapter.
3. Installation et Configuration
3.a. Relier votre adapteur LAN à votre Wii et votre réseau câblé

3.b. Existing Network Requirements
In order for your Wii to be able to use your wired broadband Internet connection,
please ensure your network is configured as follows:
Note: It might not be necessary for you to understand the points below. If a device
such as a PC or laptop can connect to the Internet via Ethernet cable on your
network without the need for any special configuration, it’s likely the Wii will be able
to use the Internet connection too.
• You are connected your Wii to a broadband modem/router that has an ‘always
on’ Internet connection.
• Your network includes a device (probably your modem/router) that is
configured to act as a DHCP that will allocate an IP address to the Wii
automatically.
• If you have enabled a hardware or software firewall on your network, it needs
to be configured to allow access to the Internet to the IP address range that
could be allocated to your Wii.
If you are in any doubt about how to configure your wired network to meet the above
requirements, please consult the documentation supplied with your network
hardware.

3.c. Configuring your Wii to Use the LAN Adapter
Configuring your Wii console to use your wired Internet connection couldn’t be
simpler. Please follow the illustrated steps below to complete the configuration:
Choose ‘Wii Options’ then ‘Wii Settings’ Choose the ‘Internet’ option on the 2nd
then click right to view the 2nd page of page of the Wii System Settings.
options.Next choose ‘Connection Settings’. Choose any empty connection
(displayed with ‘None’ alongside).
Choose ‘Wired Connection’. Finally, choose ‘OK’ to test the new
connection.
Setup is now complete.
Once you have completed the above steps, your Wii should be able to access all
avail
able online services through your wired Internet connection.
3.c. Configuration de votre Wii pour utiliser l'adapteur LAN
Configurer votre console Wii pour l’utilisation d’une connection Internet câblée ne

3.d. What to do if your Wii Fails the Connection Test
Because there is no configuration to be made on the LAN Adapter itself, if your Wii
fails the Connection Test during setup, you should check the following points:
• Your LAN Adapter must be connected to your Wii before you switch the
console on – reboot your console with the LAN Adapter connected to make
sure.
• Make sure your wired network is up and running – test the connection from a
PC or other network device if possible.
• Check the LAN Adapter is firmly connected to a USB port on your Wii and that
it is firmly connected to your router/switch/modem etc using the supplied
Ethernet cable.Further troubleshooting
If after checking the above points your Wii still fails to connect, the problem likely lies
with your network configuration. Consult the documentation that came with your
network hardware.
3.d. Que faire si votre Wii ne passe pas l'essai de connection
Puisqu'il n'y a aucune configuration à faire sur l'adapteur LAN lui-même, si votre Wii
ne passe pas l'essai de raccordement pendant l'installation, vous devriez vérifier les
points suivants:
• Votre adapteur LAN doit être relié à votre Wii avant que vous ne branchiez la
console - redémarrez votre console avec l'adapteur LAN relié pour vous
assurer du bon fonctionement du produit.
• Assurez-vous que votre réseau câblé est en service - examinez le
raccordement à partir d'un PC ou de tout autre dispositif de réseau si possible.
• Vérifiez que l'adapteur LAN est correctement relié à un port USB sur votre Wii
mais aussi correctement relié à votre routeur/switch/modem etc.. en utilisant
le câble Ethernet fourni.
Si le problème persiste
Si après la vérification des points ci-dessus votre Wii ne se connecte toujours pas, le
problème se trouve probablement avec la configuration du réseau. Consultez la
documentation qui est fournie avec votre matériel de réseau.
4. Using your LAN Adapter
Once configured (see previous chapter) your Datel LAN Adapter will provide a
seamless link to your wired Internet connection, giving access to all online-enabled
services on your Wii.
Communication lights
The LAN Adapter has two built-in lights to indicate communication. The light on the
right (nearest the Ethernet connector) shows Ethernet traffic whilst the light on the left
shown traffic on the USB port.
Note: There may be times when neither the Ethernet or USB lights are illuminated;
this is perfectly normal and simply means there is no data being transferred.
