DE Im Filmmuseum erzählen Plakate, Projektoren, Laternae magicae,
Kameras, Kostüme und Kulissen von der mehr als 120-jährigen Filmgeschich-
te. Auf Knopfdruck kann man Filme erleben, Wundertrommeln drehen oder
sich mithilfe von Spezialeffekten unsichtbar machen. Ein rekonstruiertes
Filmstudio entführt in die Welt von Hollywood. Außerdem werden Sonder-
ausstellungen zu speziellen Filmthemen gezeigt.

DE Im spätbarocken Schloss Jägerhof werden rund 500 Exponate aus
einer Sammlung von 50.000 Originalzeugnissen zu Leben und Werk des
Dichters gezeigt, darunter Briefe und Manuskripte, aber auch Büsten,
Landschaftszeichnungen und Gemälde. Sonderausstellungen, Vorträge,
Lesungen und Ferien-Workshops für Kinder runden das Programm des
Literaturmuseums ab.

the life and work of the poet are on show, including correspondence and
manuscripts, along with busts, landscape drawings and paintings, at the
late-baroque Jägerhof Palace. Special shows, lectures, readings and holiday

DE Inmitten der Urdenbacher Kämpe, einer der letzten natürlichen Auen-
landschaften am Rhein, liegt das ehemalige Römerkastell Haus Bürgel. Die
Atmosphäre dieses besonderen Ortes wird geprägt von seiner rund 2.000
Jahre alten Geschichte, dessen Einbettung in die einzigartige Natur und
einem Reiterhof mit Kaltblutzucht. Im Römischen Museum wird das Leben
der Soldaten in der römischen Provinz anhand von originalen Ausgrabungs-
funden anschaulich erzählt.
EN In the middle of the Urdenbacher Kämpe, one of the last natural flood-
plain landscapes on the river Rhine, the former Roman fort Haus Bürgel is
located. The atmosphere of this special place is characterized by its approxi-
mately 2,000 years old history, the unique nature that surrounds it and a
riding stable which also breeds cold-blooded horses. In the Roman Museum
the life of the soldiers in the Roman province is vividly displayed through
original excavation exponents.

EN Düsseldorf’s year-round carnival epicentre is located in the heart of the
Altstadt (Old Town). The seat of the Comitee Düsseldorfer Carneval e. V. –
CC, in short – is an exhibition room for valuable regalia, robes and photos
of the princely couples, club caps, medals, sketches of master float builders

DE Im Februar 2007 wurde KIT – Kunst im Tunnel eröffnet. In einem umge-
bauten Tunnelraum, der im Rahmen der Gestaltung der Rheinuferpromenade
entstand, zeigt das Haus auf 888 Quadratmetern bis zu sechs wechselnde
Ausstellungen jährlich. Der Programmschwerpunkt liegt auf der Präsentation
und Förderung junger zeitgenössischer Kunst.
EN KIT – Kunst im Tunnel was opened in February 2007. Housed in a
converted tunnel – built when the Rhine embankment promenade was
created – the gallery stages up to six temporary exhibitions every year, in
an area of 888 square metres. Its programme focuses on the presentation
and promotion of young, contemporary art.

EN The six collections held by the museum impress with their diversity and
uniqueness collection. Currently, however, the museum’s collection wing is
under reconstructionand is scheduled to reopen in the middle of 2022.

DE Das dreiflügelige Schlossensemble aus dem 18. Jahrhundert ist ein

EN The three-wing palace complex built in the 18th century is a traditional
day-trip destination in south Düsseldorf, and regular guided tours allow
visitors to see the Corps de Logis (main building). The Museums of Garden

61 hectares, beside the Rhine, also forms part of the palace complex and is
open all day.

DE Am Rande der Düsseldorfer Altstadt gelegen, ist das Düsseldorfer
Marionetten-Theater eines der ganz wenigen Figurentheater, die über ein
festes Haus verfügen und überwiegend für Erwachsene spielen. Sein Reper-
toire umfasst fantastische Literatur, Kunstmärchen, Fabeln und Musiktheater.
Mit höchster künstlerischer Qualität und aufwendiger Technik wird zeitge-
mäßes Puppenspiel gezeigt.
EN Located at the edge of Düsseldorf’s Altstadt (Old Town), one comes to
Düsseldorfer Marionetten-Theater, one of the very few such theatres that has
its own premises and which plays largely for adults. Its repertoire ranges
through fantastical literature, literary fairy tales, fables and musical theatre.
Contemporary puppet theatre of the highest artistic merit is performed here,
using elaborate technology.

DE Das FFT Düsseldorf (Forum Freies Theater) ist eine Spiel- und Produkti-
onsstätte für professionelles freies Theater und zählt zu den wichtigsten Pro-
duktionszentren dieser Art im deutschsprachigen Raum. Es steht für ein Pro-
gramm an der Schnittstelle von Theater, Performance, Tanz, bildender Kunst
und Musik, das sich mit aktuellen gesellschaftlichen Fragestellungen be-
schäftigt. Im Laufe des Jahres 2021 wird es eine Neueröffnung in den Räu-
men des Kap I am Hauptbahnhof geben.
EN The FFT Düsseldorf (Forum Freies Theater) is a performance and produc-
tion venue for professional free theatre and is one of the most important
production centres of this kind in the German-speaking region. It offers a
programme at the interface of theatre, performance, dance, visual art and
music that engages with topical social issues. 2021 will see a reopening at
the premises of Kap I at central station.
