PROTECTION DURING FIRE AND RESCUE OPERATIONS
Die DIN ISO 15090 unterscheidet verschiedene Typen von Feuerwehrstiefeln. Neben der Typisierung prüft die Norm die Wärmeisolierung
der Stiefel und berücksichtigt Zusatzanforderungen wie elektrisch isolierende Schuhe (I), antistatische Schuhe (A), die Chemikalienbeständig-
keit (CH) und die Kälteisolierung (CI). Die verschiedenen Typen geben an, ob die Stiefel mit Durchtritthemmung und Zehenschutz ausge-
stattet sind (Typ2) und noch zusätzlich gegen chemische Gefahren (Typ3). Schuhe der Kategorie Typ1 kommen bei Außeneinsätzen und
Arbeiten mit Brand- und Waldbrandgefahr zum Einsatz. Typ1 erfüllt nicht die zusätzlichen Anforderungen der Typen 2 und 3.

PROTECTION AGAINST CUTS FROM CHAINSAWS
Ein 100%iger Schutz gegen Schnitte durch handgeführte Kettensägen kann durch Persönliche Schutzausrüstung (PSA) nicht sichergestellt
werden. Aber die Erfahrung hat gezeigt, dass es möglich ist, Persönliche Schutzausrüstung so zu gestalten, dass ein hoher Schutzgrad
gegeben ist. Die Schutzwirkung kann, unter anderem, durch das folgende Funktionsprinzip erreicht werden: Abbremsen der Kette durch
Verwendung von Fasern mit hoher Schnittfestigkeit, die die Kettengeschwindigkeit durch Aufnahme der kinetischen Energie verringern.
