Swiss O Week Gstaad - Das OL-Ferienerlebnis im
2019
Nach Austragungen in der Innerschweiz, dem Wallis und
Graubünden wird 2019 die Destination Gstaad den schweizweit
grössten OL-Event beherbergen. Damit besucht die die Swiss O
Week ein bisher völlig unberührtes OL-Gebiet. In der Woche vom 3.
bis 10. August 2019 werden gegen 3’000 OrientierungsläuferInnen
aus über 30 Nationen in der Ferienregion Gstaad ihrem Hobby
frönen können. Die Swiss O Week wird auch im Saaneland und Pays
d‘Enhaut ihren Prinzipen nachkommen und Ferien mit Sport und
einer Prise Abenteuer kombinieren.
Die Ferienregion Gstaad setzt sich aus zehn Dörfern zusammen mit
dem gleichnamigen Dorf als touristisches Zentrum. Die Chaletdörfer
liegen zwischen 1'000 und 1'400 Meter, bis heute konnten sie ihren
Charakter bewahren. Die Legende erzählt, dass Gott sich während
der Schöpfung der Welt ein wenig ausruhen wollte, dabei prägte der
Abdruck seiner Hand das Saanenland: Die fünf Finger formten die
Täler, im Zentrum entfaltete sich Gstaad. Ob nun überirdische
Kräfte im Spiel waren oder nicht, auch dem unvoreingenommenen
Gast erfreuen die Schönheiten der Landschaft sein Auge.
Die Marke Gstaad steht weltweit für schicken Charme und diskreten
Luxus mit Understatement, den auch besonders Gäste aus
Königshäusern, Film, Kunst, Sport oder Wirtschaft zu schätzen
wissen. Aber trotz Stil und Klasse: Gstaad ist echt alpin und
bodenständig geblieben. Gstaad ist stolz auf seine Tradition und lebt
sie. 200 Landwirtschaftsbetriebe, 80 noch betriebene Alpen und
etwa 7‘000 Kühe gibt es in der Region. Gleichzeitig sorgen
vielfältige Freizeitmöglichkeiten für erstklassige Erholung. Damit
bilden die OL-Wettkämpfe in unterschiedlichsten und
abwechslungsreichen Geländen, die inspirierenden Ortschaften des
Saanenlands, mit herrlichen Bergwäldern und umgeben von der
imposanten Bergwelt der Berner Westalpen und des Waadtlands,
die Grundlagen für unvergessliche OL-Ferien.

Wettkämpfe in absolut unberührtem OL-Gelände Die Swiss O Week bietet wiederum ein OL-Erlebnis der besonderen Art: Sämtliche sechs Etappengelände wie auch die Trainingsgelände werden erstmals für den OL kartiert! Die erste Etappe wird als Sprint-Etappe in Gstaad durchgeführt. Die zwei folgenden Tage finden im Grenzland zwischen den Kantonen Bern und Waadt oberhalb des Col du Pillon statt. Die panoramareiche zweite Etappe startet für die längeren Kategorien auf dem Col du Voré mit Blick auf den Arnensee auf Berner Seite und auf die Les Diablerets auf Waadtländer Seite und endet am idyllischen Lac Retaud. Als Novum bei der Swiss O Week wird an der dritten Etappe das gleiche Ziel am Lac Retaud verwendet. Die Posten stehen dann allerdings auf dem technisch anspruchsvollen Plateau westlich und östlich des Zielgeländes. Nach einem Ruhetag geht es per modernster Gondelbahn geht es zur vierten Etappe auf den Hornberg oberhalb von Saanenmöser. Viele alte Wettertannen prägen das Alpgelände. An der fünften Etappe ist die SOW im Waadtland in Rougemont zu Gast. In einem sehr technischen Gelände sind die Mitteldistanzqualitäten der Läuferinnen und Läufer gefragt. Zum Abschluss treffen sich die Teilnehmerinnen und Teilnehmer nochmals am Dorfrand von Gstaad. Per Seilbahngeht es an den Start auf dem Eggli. Der reich strukturierte Wald am Westhang wird nochmals die technischen Fähigkeiten fordern. Swiss O Week Gstaad - The orienteering holiday experience in 2019 After hosting events in Central Switzerland and in the Cantons of Valais and Grisons, the destination Gstaad will finally be the venue for the largest Swiss orienteering event in 2019. It means that the Swiss O Week 2019 will take place in pristine areas previously untouched by the sport of orienteering. In the week of the 3rd through the 10th August 2019 around 3’000 orienteering athletes from over 30 countries will thoroughly enjoy their passion in the holiday destination Gstaad. The Swiss O Week 2019 will also follow its principle by combining holidays with sport and a pinch of adventure. Besides the town of Gstaad, the area also encompasses 9 more little chalet-type towns which lie between 1’000 and 1’400 m altitude. Legend has it that God needed a rest during creation of the world thus shaping the Saanenland region with his hand. The five fingers formed the valleys with the town of Gstaad developing in the center. Whether celestial forces were at work or not, the visiting guest will surely be delighted by the beauties of the landscape. The Gstaad brand today is synonymous with stylish charm and discreet understated luxury, which Gstaad's royal guests and visitors from the worlds of film, art, sport and science have come to appreciate. Yet despite its style and class, Gstaad has remained genuinely alpine and down-to-earth in character. The people are proud of their tradition and they live and breathe it every day. The area of Gstaad has 200 farms, 80 of which still use alpine pastures with around 7000 cows. At the same time, a range of diverse leisure activities offers first-class relaxation. This fact, together with the orienteering events offered in most different and diverse areas in front of the imposing mountain scenery of the Western Alps will be the basis for unforgettable orienteering holidays. Competitions in absolutely untouched and pristine areas The Swiss O Week will offer once again orienteering of a special kind: all six designated competition and training areas have never been mapped and used for orienteering before! The first stage will be a sprint in the heart of Gstaad. The following 2 stages will take place on the “border” areas between the cantons of Berne and Vaud just above the “Col du Pillon” pass. The longer classes will start on

The finish will be at the idyllic Lac Retaud which will also be the finish site for the 3rd stage. However, the orienteering terrain for this stage will be on the more technically challenging plateau West and East of the finish area. After a rest-day. the Swiss O Week uses the very modern cable car to reach the hill “Hornberg” above Saanenmöser, where semi-open pastural land dominates. The fifth stage will travel to Rougemont in the canton of Vaud where the technical terrain will challenge the runners’ middle-distance qualities. Gstaad will conclude the Swiss O Week: participants will reach the start on the hill “Eggli” by chairlift from where the Western hillside will test the technical skills once again in an area rich in details. Swiss O Week Gstaad - L’expérience de la CO en 2019 Après des événements en Suisse centrale et en orientale, et en Valais c’est la destination Gstaad qui accueillera 2019 la plus grande manifestation de la CO du pays. La huitième Swiss O Week (SOW) entrera un territoire totalement vierge pour la CO. Pendant la semaine du 3 au 10 août 2019, 3’000 orienteurs de plus de trente pays pourront profiter de passer leur temps dans la région touristique de Gstaad. Le pilotage de la SOW gardera ses principes aussi en Saanenland et au Pays d'Enhaut, où il combinera les vacances avec le sport et une pincée d'aventures, semblable aux précédents motifs. La destination Gstaad se compose de dix villages, le lieu du même nom agit comme le centre touristique. Les villages des chalets se répandent entre 1'000 et 1'400 mètres, à ce jour ils conservent leur caractère. La légende raconte que Dieu a voulu se reposer un peu pendant la création du monde : tandis que l'empreinte de sa main façonnait le Saanenland: les cinq doigts formaient les vallées, au centre se déploie Gstaad. Si les forces surnaturelles ont été impliquées dans le jeu ou pas, même l'hôte neutre apprécie les beautés du paysage. Gstaad, sa grande marque est synonyme de charme chic et de luxe discret avec euphémisme dans le monde entier, ce qui est particulièrement apprécié par les invités des familles royales, du cinéma, de l'art, du sport ou des sciences. Mais malgré le style et la classe: Gstaad est vraiment alpin, reste constant. Les habitants sont fiers de leurs traditions et ils vivent de cette façon. 200 exploitations agricoles existent, 80 Alpes exploitées et environ 7’000 vaches passent les pâturages de la région. En même temps, une variété d'activités récréatives dote des loisirs de première classe. Avec les compétitions de CO sur terrains variés dans les montagnes imposantes des Alpes occidentales des cantons de Berne et de Vaud, la base d'un séjour inoubliable est à disposition. Compétitions d'orientation dans terrains absolument intacts La Swiss O Week offrira à nouveau une expérience spéciale: les cartes pour les six étapes, mais aussi les terrains d'entraînement, seront créées en première édition pour toutes les courses d'orientation! La première étape sera une CO de sprint à Gstaad. La suite se déroulera en deux jours à la frontière entre les cantons de Berne et de Vaud audessus du Col du Pillon. Le départ pour la deuxième étape sera installé pour les longues courses sur le Col du Voré, où les participants seront attirés par la vue impressionnante

vers le bas, le lac Arnensee du côté bernois. Puis l’arrivée se
trouvera aux Diablerets du côté vaudois, au bord idyllique du Lac
Retaud. Cette arrivée identique, une nouveauté dans l’histoire de la
SOW, sera utilisée encore pour la troisième étape. Cependant, les
postes se trouvent sur un plateau techniquement difficile, aux côtés
de la zone d'arrivée.
Après un jour de repos, une télécabine très moderne vous
emmènera pour la quatrième étape sur le Hornberg, audessus de
Saanenmöser. Beaucoup de vieux sapins caractérisent le terrain
alpin là-haut. Pour la cinquième étape, la SOW fait un retour au
Vaud, dit Rougemont. Dans un terrain très technique, les qualités
des actifs pour la course middle seront en demande. Puis le
finissage de la SOW 2019, les participants se retrouveront à la
périphérie du village de Gstaad. En téléphérique vous êtes portés
au départ sur l'Eggli. Le terrain boisé et beaucoup de détails
demandera une fois de plus vos compétences techniques.
