Etappe 4 auf dem Hornberg – Die Liebliche
Sechs Gänge umfasst das sportliche Menü der Swiss O Week 2019.
Nach dem urbanen Start im Zentrum von Gstaad und den beiden
Etappen hoch über dem Col du Pillon ist der Ruhetag am Mittwoch
sicher verdient. Über Möglichkeiten der Erholung in der Destination
Gstaad, mit kulturellem oder touristischem Anstrich – Hausptsache
aktiv – werden wir zu einem späteren Zeitpunkt noch ausführlich
berichten. Heute wenden wir uns aber bereits der Etappe 4 auf dem
Hornberg zu. Die Kartengrundlage dazu stammt von Beat Imhof.
Hornberg – OL-Ziel mit historisch verwurzeltem
touristischem Flair
Schon in früheren Jahrhunderten schwärmten Besucher von der
lieblichen Atmosphäre des Saanenlandes. Dieses wurde aber erst
1905 durch den Bau der Montreux-Berner-Oberland-Bahn (MOB)
auch für weither Reisende zugänglich. Im Berghotel Hornfluh
erinnert eine alte Aufnahme von 1947 an Sir Bernard Law
Montgomery auf dem Hornberg. Der britische Feldmarschall ist nach
dem Ende des Zweiten Weltkriegs der erste „berühmte Gast“ in der
Destination. Er liess sich mit der damals fortschrittlichen
Schlittenseilbahn für die Abfahrt bergwärts ziehen. Die
schlittenartigen Fahrzeuge mit Seilzug beförderten im Saanenland,
wo sie 1934 erfunden und erstmals eingesetzt wurden, die Ski-
Touristen auf die Berge.
Viele H
Zur vierten Etappe erfolgt die Anreise direkt mit der MOB, die Fahrt
mit dem SOW-Transportpass ist während der ganzen Woche frei,
und mit dem Sessellift ab Schönried.
Horneggli, Horeflue und Hüenerspil heissen die auffälligen
Bergspitzen um den Hornberg, also ist es kaum Zufall, dass die
Bahnleger auf H hören: Karin Hodel und Daniel Hadorn. Die beiden

Die beiden Mitglieder der ol norska entwickeln die Bahnen mit einer klassischen Trennung der Aufgaben: Hadorn heckt die Bahnen aus, Hodel hinterfragt und kontrolliert. Vielfältiges Gelände Das Gelände weist mehrere Kammern mit viel Über- und Ausblick auf. Die Wettkampf-Bahnen werden gemäss dem Bahnlegerteam trotz des charmanten Namens Kraft fordern und einige Prisen Abenteuer bereithalten. Spannende Routenwahlaufgaben sind zu erwarten und gleichzeitig wird es wichtig sein, den Blickkontakt nach vorn – und hinten – zu den Gegnern nicht zu unterschätzen. Dieser kann sowohl beflügel wie auch irritieren. Beide Reaktionen können im schwierigen Gelände zu unwillkommenen Abenteuern führen. Auf was dürfen sich die Läuferinnen und Läufer besonders freuen? Hadorn und Hodel nennen beide ohne Zögern die grandiose Aussicht auf die Westalpen. Die liebliche, vierte Etappe vermittelt dem Betrachter ein wirkliches Gefühl für Ferien. Und dieses lässt sich verstärken: an die Zielarena angrenzend steht nach dem OL am Hornberg gleich ein Wake-Board-Park zur Verfügung. Darauf musste der erste berühmte Gast von Gstaad noch verzichten... Der erste Meldeschluss naht zügig Wer sich auf dem Anmeldeportal www.go2ol.ch bis zum 31. Januar 2019 für die SOW 2019 anmeldet, profitiert vom Rabatt für Frühbucher! Der definitive Anmeldeschluss für die 47 Wettkampfkategorien und für die offenen Kategorien Holiday und Challenge ist auf den 17. Juni 2019 festgelegt. Danach sind Nachmeldungen bis am Lauftag nur noch in den Kategorien Holiday und Challenge möglich. Stage 4 on the Hornberg Mountain – the Lovely Stage The athletic menu of the Swiss O Week 2019 includes six courses. After the urban start in the centre of Gstaad and the two stages high up over the Col du Pillon everyone certainly deserves a rest day on Wednesday. At a later time, we will thoroughly inform of the possibilities to recover in the destination Gstaad with cultural or touristic suggestions leaning towards active propositions. Today, though, we are presenting the fourth stage on the Hornberg. The base map was done by Beat Imhof. Hornberg – O-destination with a historically rooted touristy flair In earlier centuries visitors were already enchanted by the lovely atmosphere of the Saanenland. However, it was only in 1905 through the construction of the Montreux-(Bernese)-Oberland Railway (MOB) that it also became accessible to travellers from far

The British field marshal is the first “famous” guest in this area after the Second World War. He was pulled uphill with the then advanced sleigh-ropeway for the downhill ski. In the Saanenland, where those toboggan-like cable vehicles were invented in 1934 and used for the first time, the sleds transported ski tourists up the mountains. Many „H“ The journey to the fourth stage is done with the MOB and is free of charge during the entire week with the SOW-transport pass. From Schönried the chairlift transports the runners up to the Hornberg. The names of the striking mountain tops around the Hornberg are Horneggli, Horeflue and Hüenerspil thus it is barely a coincidence that the course-setters’ names also start with an “H”: Karin Hodel and Daniel Hadorn! Both members of ol norska club develop the courses with a classical splitting of tasks: Hadorn plots the courses and Hodel scrutinizes and controls. Multifaceted Terrain The terrain has several areas with plenty of overviews and outlooks. Despite its charming name the courses will demand strength and a pinch of adventure according to the course-setting team. Exciting route-choices can be expected. At the same time it is important not to under-estimate the eye-contact in front and back to the competitors. This may either motivate or also detract from concentrating and both reactions may lead to un-welcome adventures in difficult areas. To what can runners particularly look forward to? Without hesitation, Hadorn and Hodel speak of the terrific views onto the West Alps. The lovely, fourth stage conveys the viewer a feeling of vacation. And this can even be increased as a Wake-Board Park invites for participation adjacent to the orienteering finish arena on the Hornberg. Our famous first guest from Gstaad though had to relinquish this fun activity. The first registration deadline is fast approaching Early birds will benefit from a reduced fee when signing up on www.go2ol.ch until 31 January 2019 for SOW 2019! The final deadline for the 47 competitive classes and the Holiday and Challenge open classes is 17 June 2019. Le menu sportif de la Swiss O Week 2019 comprend six tranches. La journée de repos du mercredi est bien méritée après le départ urbain au centre de Gstaad et puis les deux étapes au-dessus du Col du Pillon. Nous vous parlerons plus tard des possibilités de se détendre avec une touche culturelle ou touristique dans la destination de Gstaad. Aujourd'hui, nous montons déjà pour l'étape 4 – la douce – sur le Hornberg. La base cartographique provient de Beat Imhof. Hornberg – une destination au charme touristique et enracinée dans l'histoire Depuis des siècles, les visiteurs étaient enthousiasmés par l’atmosphère spéciale du Saanenland. Ce n'est qu'en 1905, lors de la construction du Chemin de fer Montreux-Berner-Oberland (MOB), qu'il est devenu accessible aux voyageurs venus du monde entier. Dans l’hôtel de montagne Hornfluh, une vieille photo de 1947 mémorise Sir Bernard Law Montgomery sur le Hornberg. Le feld- maréchal britannique est le premier hôte célèbre de la destination après la fin de la Seconde Guerre mondiale. Il s'est laissé tirer par le téléphérique de luge, en ce temps progressif. Dans le Saanenland, en 1934 les traîneaux à traction par câble ont été inventés et utilisés pour la première fois pour transporter les touristes à ski en haut des montagnes. Plusieurs „H“ Le départ de la quatrième étape sera atteint directement avec le MOB et le télésiège de Schönried. Dans les frais d’inscription sont inclus le laissez-passer de transport. Horneggli, Horeflue et Hüenerspil sont les noms des sommets montagneux frappants autour du Hornberg. Ce n'est donc pas un hasard, si les noms des traceurs de cette étape écoutent H : Karin Hodel et Daniel Hadorn. Les deux membres de la société ol norska développent les courses avec une séparation classique des tâches : Hadorn réalise les courses, Hodel fait le contrôle. Un terrain varié Le terrain a plusieurs vues d'ensemble. Les courses de compétition, malgré leur nom charmant, exigeront de la force et ils tiendront quelques prises d’aventure. Les sportifs peuvent s'attendre à des tâches passionnantes et sélectives, pendant la course, il sera important en même temps de ne pas sous-estimer la vue vers l'avant. Et aussi à cause de la concurrence derrière soi. Un contact visuel peut à la fois inspirer et irriter. Les réactions peuvent mener à des aventures malvenues dans ce terrain difficile. A quoi les coureurs peuvent-ils se réjouir en particulier ? Hadorn et Hodel citent la vue magnifique sur les Alpes occidentales sans hésiter. Cette belle étape donne au participant un vrai sentiment de vacances. L’impression se laisse intensifier: Au bord du centre de compétition près de l'arrivée, il y a le parc de wakeboard, qui peut être pris en possession immédiatement après la CO. Le premier hôte célèbre de Gstaad y devait encore s'en passer. La première date-limite approche à grands pas Si vous vous inscrivez à la SOW 2019 sur le portail d'inscription (www.go2ol.ch) avant le 31 janvier 2019, vous bénéficiez de la réduction pour l’inscription prématurée. La date limite d'inscription pour les 47 catégories de compétition et pour les catégories ouvertes, Challenge et Holiday, est le 17 juin 2019. Passé ce délai, les inscriptions tardives ne seront possibles que dans les catégories ouvertes jusqu'au jour de la course.
