                                         Ontiveros
Melchior de Ontiveros [Hontiveros] of Avila, Spain, son of Franco de la Reina by Elena
Canelas, served with Nuño de Guzmán in the Conquest of western Mexico, 1529–. By
1564, Baltazar de Ontiveros was established as one of the first ranchers in northern
Nueva Vizcaya. In 1597, Juan, son of Juan de Ontiveros, of Durango, took part in Juan
Oñate’s expedition to New Mexico. General Cristóbal de Ontiveros (who m. Maria,
dau. of Capitán Pedro Sáez de Cháves [d. ante 1633] by Maria Rodríguez) and his
brother Capitán Juan de Ontiveros, alcalde mayor of Cuatro Ciénegas, were among the
principal land-holders of Nueva Vizcaya in the 17th century. Christóval de Ontiberos
and Maria Sáez had a son, Juan, who m. in Zacatecas 20 Dec. 1663 Lorensa de Sosa.

Stade, capital of the Swedish province of Bremen-Verden-Wildeshausen, as a 2nd-lieutenant in the
retinue of Field-Marshal Henrik Horn (1618–1693), who was appointed governor of Stade in
1666. Peter and Hedwig had 3 other sons (as well as 2 daughters): Philipp Jacob Hurtzig (b. Stade
