Back on Track!
Nach mehr als einem Jahr der pandemiebedingten Verwerfungen nimmt
Crossing Europe im Zuge der Wiedereröffnung von Kinos und Kulturbetrieben die
18. Festivalausgabe für ein filmhungriges Publikum mit einem starken Filmjahrgang
und einem ausgeklügelten Präventionskonzept in Angriff. Im Zusammenspiel mit
Vienna Shorts Ende Mai und der im Juni stattfindenden Diagonale in Graz soll der
Festivalzug in Österreich endlich wieder Fahrt aufnehmen.

Das diesjährige breitgefächerte Festivalpaket von Crossing Europe bietet einen Movie 1 - 19:30 / dOFmeU – Seite/page 30
Einblick in das aktuelle und vielgestaltige Filmschaffen aus Europa und kann auch als
Einladung zu einer cineastischen Rundreise quer durch den Kontinent verstanden
werden. Es umfasst 123 handverlesene Filme aus 40 Ländern in 145 Vorführungen.
Für alle, die Crossing Europe Anfang Juni nicht physisch wahrnehmen können, bie-
ten wir ab 6. Juni eine Auswahl an Filmen aus dem aktuellen Programm auch online
über die österreichische Streaming-Plattform Kino VOD Club an.
Und damit die „Verpackung“ auch mit den innovativen Festivalinhalten kor-
respondiert, hat Crossing Europe auf Diversität und Geschlechtergerechtigkeit bei
den Programminhalten Wert gelegt und ein Bündel von ressourcenschonenden und

and an ingenious prevention concept as cinemas and cultural institutions reopen. In
conjunction with Vienna Shorts in late May and the Diagonale in Graz, which takes
place in June, the festival bandwagon in Austria should finally pick up speed again.
This year‘s wide-ranging festival program of Crossing Europe offers an insight
into the current and diverse filmmaking from Europe and can also be understood
as an invitation to a cinematic trip across the continent. It includes 123 hand-picked
films from 40 countries in 145 screenings. For all those who cannot physically at-
tend Crossing Europe at the beginning of June, we will also be offering a selection
of films from the current program online via the Austrian streaming platform Kino
