mit die Handhabung Ihres neuen Produktes für Sie und den Nutzer sicher, praktisch und komfortabel ist, lesen Sie bitte
zuerst diese Gebrauchsanweisung. So können Sie Beschädigungen und Bedienungsfehler vermeiden. Sorgen Sie bitte

Hinweise
Allgemeine Hinweise
• Lesen Sie sich vor Erstgebrauch die Gebrauchsanweisung sorgfältig durch oder lassen Sie sich diese bei Leseschwie-
rigkeiten vorlesen. Sollte die Gebrauchsanweisung fehlen, können Sie sich diese auf www.thomashilfen.de herunterla-
den. Die Inhalte der digitalen Gebrauchsanweisung können vergrößert dargestellt werden.
• Prüfen Sie die Verpackung auf Transportschäden und ob das Produkt in einwandfreiem Zustand ist.
• Veränderungen am Produkt sind nur im Rahmen der vorgesehenen Einstellmöglichkeiten zulässig.
• Reinigung und Pflege im Alltag kann von Angehörigen und Betreuern durchgeführt werden. Wartung und Inspektion
erfolgen durch den Fachhandel.
• Reinigen Sie bei Bedarf den Rahmen des Produktes.
• Alle Schrauben des Produktes müssen vor dem Entfernen erwärmt werden, da sie mit einem Gewindeklebstoff gesi-
chert sind. Bei einer erneuten Montage müssen alle Schrauben wieder mit Gewindeklebstoff gesichert werden.
• Alle Kennzeichnungen müssen am Produkt verbleiben und dürfen nicht manipuliert werden.
Sicherheitshinweise
• Kontrollieren Sie mindestens alle 3 Monate, ob die Einstellungen des Produktes noch zu den aktuellen Körpermaßen
des Nutzers passen. Lassen Sie ggf. durch einen Fachhändler / Orthopädietechniker die Einstellungen anpassen.
• Kontrollieren Sie regelmäßig (wöchentlich) die Funktionsfähigkeit der Einstellmöglichkeiten am Produkt.
• Achten Sie beim Einstellen und Falten des Produktes auf die Klemmgefahr im Bereich der beweglichen Teile.
• Heben Sie das Produkt nur an fest verschweißten oder verschraubten Bauteilen an.
• Kontrollieren Sie vor jedem Einsatz, ob alle Muttern, Bolzen und Schrauben fest angezogen sind.
• Bitte überlasten Sie das Produkt nicht und beachten Sie das maximale Nutzergewicht bzw. die maximale Belastbar-
keit (siehe technische Daten).
• Nutzer bitte nie unbeaufsichtigt mit dem Produkt alleine lassen.
• Das Produkt darf nur von einem Nutzer zur Zeit verwendet werden. Es dürfen keine weiteren Personen im oder auf
dem Produkt platziert werden.
• Hängen Sie keine schweren Taschen oder andere Lasten an das Produkt, dadurch erhöht sich die Kippgefahr.
• Auf unebenem Boden und beim Überwinden von Türschwellen besteht Kippgefahr.
• Kontrollieren Sie vor Benutzung des Produktes immer die Funktionsfähigkeit der Bremse / Feststellbremse. Sollte die
Bremse nicht ordnungsgemäß funktionieren, darf das Produkt nicht genutzt werden.
• Beim Hineinsetzen und Herausnehmen des Nutzers muss die Feststellbremse betätigt sein.
• Nutzen Sie bei einem Stopp oder längeren Halt die Bremsfunktion, so dass ein unbeabsichtigtes Wegrollen vermie-
den wird.
• Nasse Räder können die Bremswirkung beeinträchtigen.
• Wenn Sie das Produkt nicht benutzen, dann lassen Sie die Bremse nicht angezogen. Die Räder könnten ansonsten
durch die ständig angezogene Bremse beschädigt werden.
• Bei starker Sonneneinstrahlung und Hitze kann es zu hohen Oberflächentemperaturen am Produkt kommen. Dann
besteht Verletzungsgefahr bei Berührung. Nutzen Sie das Produkt erst wieder, wenn es ausreichend abgekühlt ist.
Schützen Sie das Produkt allgemein vor direkter Sonneneinstrahlung.
• Sollte es wider Erwarten zu einem schwerwiegenden Vorfall mit dem Produkt kommen, melden Sie dies bitte unver-
züglich unserem Unternehmen und der zuständigen Behörde.

Zweckbestimmung
Bestimmungsgemäße Verwendung / Anwendungsbereiche
Der Therapiestuhl SiiS ist ein Medizinprodukt der Klasse 1.
Der Therapiestuhl ist ausschließlich für die Nutzung im Innenbereich bestimmt. Er ist für den Einsatz zu Hause, im
Kindergarten, in der Schule und am Arbeitsplatz geeignet. Der Therapiestuhl zeichnet sich besonders durch den Sitz-
block in verschiedenen Ausführungen, die Beckenkammstütze und die Impuls-Geber am Rücken aus. Er ermöglicht die
selbstständige Tonusregulation des Nutzers und fördert die Wahrnehmungsverarbeitung. Mit dem Therapiestuhl ist die
Bewegungsfreiheit der Hände nicht eingeschränkt, sodass die motorischen und feinmotorischen Fähigkeiten des Nutzers
erhalten bzw. gefördert werden. Die Sitzhöhe kann vom Nutzer selbstständig angepasst werden. Ein selbstständiger
Transfer zu einem Mobilitätshilfsmittel wie z.B. Gehwagen oder Rollstuhl ist möglich.
Eine andere oder darüber hinausgehende Verwendung gilt als nicht bestimmungsgemäß.
Indikation / Patientenzielgruppe, vorgesehene Anwender
Das Produkt eignet sich in seinen verschiedenen Ausführungen für Kinder, Jugendliche und Erwachsene mit einer Be-
einträchtigung des Sitzens bei funktionellen und / oder strukturellen Schädigungen des Rumpfes bzw. der Rumpf- und
gegebenenfalls Halsmuskulatur mit Fehlhaltungen. Dazu zählen alle Formen der sensomotorischen Dysfunktionen mit
z.B. spastischen Bewegungsstörungen bis zu hypotonen Dysregulationen. Das Produkt dient zur Anbahnung und Einhal-
tung einer möglichst physiologischen Sitzposition. Beim Nutzer muss ein Mindestmaß an Stützfunktion in den Beinen
vorhanden sein. Außerdem muss der Nutzer über ein Minimum an Rumpfkontrolle verfügen, die unter entsprechender
Stimulanz aktiv wird und sich in eine normotone Spannung verändern lässt. Das Produkt ist außerdem geeignet bei
Nutzern mit Wahrnehmungsverarbeitungsstörungen und Konzentrationsstörungen.
Anwendungsrisiken und Kontraindikationen
Bei sachgerechtem Gebrauch können Risiken bei der Anwendung ausgeschlossen werden. Kontraindikationen sind nicht
bekannt.
Stellen Sie zusammen mit einem Arzt oder Therapeuten sicher, dass das Produkt für den Nutzer geeignet ist.
Produktbeschreibung
Lieferumfang
Ihr Produkt wird in der Grundausstattung vormontiert geliefert. Das eventuell mitbestellte Zubehör liegt dem Produkt
bei und muss nachträglich montiert werden. Dem Produkt liegt eine Gebrauchsanweisung bei.

Inbetriebnahme
• Entfernen Sie sorgsam die Transportsicherungen und die Verpackungen.
• Achten Sie darauf, dass Verpackungsmaterial und Kleinteile nicht in die Hände von Kindern gelangen können, um ein
Verschlucken bzw. die Gefahr des Erstickens zu vermeiden.
Der SiiS Therapiestuhl ist in der Regel bis auf den Handbogen bereits komplett montiert. Der Handbogen wird auf die
Zylinder über den Hinterrädern gesetzt. Die Befestigung erfolgt mittels der mitgelieferten Schrauben und Unterlegschei-
ben. Die Löcher oberhalb der Hinterräder (1) werden mit den beiliegenden Abdeckkappen verschlossen (Abb. 13 (1)).
Hinweis: SiiS M wird ohne Schiebebügel geliefert.

Gebrauchsschulung
Der Anwender wird vom autorisierten Fachpersonal unter Hinzunahme dieser Gebrauchsanweisung in den Gebrauch
dieses Hilfsmittels eingewiesen.
Einstellmöglichkeiten / Leistungsmerkmale
Die speziellen Bedürfnisse des Nutzers erfordern eine individuelle Einstellung des SiiS Therapiestuhls. Verstellen Sie den
SiiS Therapiestuhl deshalb am besten gemeinsam mit Ihrem Arzt oder Therapeuten, bis die bestmögliche Aufrichtung
des Nutzers erreicht ist.
Positionierungsempfehlung für den Nutzer
1. Füße
Die Füße müssen immer festen Bodenkontakt haben und zusätzlich in einer symmetrischen Position stehen. (Abb. 9)
2. Sitzhöhe
Höhenverstellung, um die richtige Positionierung der Knie- und Hüftgelenke vorzunehmen. Die Höhe des Sitzes muss
so eingestellt werden, dass der Nutzer mit den Füßen Bodenkontakt hat. In der Praxis hat sich ein Knie- und Hüftwinkel
über 90° bewährt und zu guten Aufrichtungsergebnissen geführt. (Abb. 10)
3. Beckenposition
Einstellung des Auf- und Ausrichtungsimpulses über die kleine feste Beckenkammstütze. Sie wird am Beckenkamm posi-
tioniert – oftmals in direktem Kontakt mit dieser Region. Die Beckenkammstütze kann in der Höhe und Tiefe individuell
eingestellt werden. (Abb. 11)
4. Impulsgeber
Positionierung der punktförmigen Impulsgeber: eder Nutzer reagiert auf individuelle Stimulationspunkte, die zwischen
den unteren Rippenbögen und unterhalb der Schulterblätter liegen. Die Impulsgeber müssen auf Höhe dieser Punkte
eingestellt werden, so dass es bei Kontakt mit diesen zu einer Rumpfaufrichtung kommt. (Abb. 12)
Sitz
Der Sitz lässt sich stufenlos in der Höhe verstellen, hierdurch können die Beine richtig positioniert werden.
Sitzhöhe
Zur individuellen Einstellung der Sitzhöhe wird der rechts unter dem Sitzblock angebrachte Hebel nach oben gezogen.
Wenn die gewünschte Sitzhöhe erreicht ist, den Hebel wieder loslassen. (Abb. 14)
Zusätzlich kann die Gasdruckfeder mittels Inbusschlüssels um weitere 10 cm verstellt werden (Abb. 15 (1)). So können
z.B. hohe Türschwellen besser überwunden werden. Um ein Verdrehen des Sitzes zu verhindern, muss die Innensechs-
kantschraube (Abb. 15 (2)) bei allen Modellen immer fest angezogen sein.
Hinweis: Um den Sitz vom Untergestell abzunehmen, müssen beide Schrauben gelöst werden.
Der feste Sitzblock gibt eine maximale Reizstimulanz an den Nutzer.
Die langgezogene Sitzflächengestaltung dient zur Bahnung der Arme nach vorne (Stabilisierung, Symmetrisierung,
Tonusregulation), zusätzlich kann durch das Aufstützen der Arme auf den Sitzblock eine zwischenzeitliche Belastungs-
veränderung der Wirbelsäule vorgenommen werden.
Der ergonomische Sitzblock gibt die physiologische Körperstellung vor. Über die schräge Sitzfläche im hinteren Sitz-
blockbereich wird das Becken leicht angekippt, so kann eine Wirbelsäulenaufrichtung ausgeführt werden.
Rücken
Beckenkammstütze
Die kleine feste Beckenkammstütze mit geringer Anlage am Körper dient zur Stabilisierung. (Abb. 11) Sie kann in der
Höhe und Tiefe individuell auf den Nutzer eingestellt werden.
Zur Einstellung der Höhe der Beckenkammstütze die Handschraube lösen und anschließend wieder fixieren. (Abb. 16)

Tiefenverstellung der Beckenkammstütze
Die Tiefe der Beckenkammstütze kann unterhalb des Sitzes eingestellt werden. Hierzu die Handschrauben lösen und
die Tiefe individuell einstellen. Danach die Handschrauben wieder fest anziehen. (Abb. 17)
Impulsgeber
Die punktförmigen Impulsgeber vermitteln eine Orientierung über die Position des Rückens und wirken gleichzeitig sti-
mulierend auf den Auf- und Ausrichtungsprozess. Sie können in der Höhe individuell auf den Nutzer eingestellt werden.
(Abb. 18)
Zur Einstellung der Impulsgeber die Inbusschrauben lösen und die gewünschte Höhe durch Herausziehen und Herein-
schieben einstellen. Anschließend die Inbusschrauben wieder festdrehen.
Untergestell
Das Untergestell bietet vielfältige Verstellmöglichkeiten zur individuellen Anpassung an die Person und die jeweiligen
Situationen.
Das Untergestell garantiert eine gute Rollfunktion und viel Fußraum, der ggf. bei der Anbahnung eines kontralateralen
Schreitmusters (abwechselndes Aufsetzen der Füße) aus der sitzenden Position ausreichend Bewegungsfreiheit bietet.
Bei sicherem Stand auf ebenem Boden ist der Therapiestuhl kippsicher.
Der Schiebebügel bietet gute Vorraussetzungen, den Stuhl auch im Innenbereich über längere Wegstrecken durch
Begleitpersonen zu schieben. Der Nutzer kann den Bügel auch als „Haltegriff“ für den Transfer und zur Fortbewegung
benutzen.
Achtung: SiiS M wird ohne Schiebebügel geliefert.
Bremse
Zum Feststellen der Hinterräder den Hebel nach vorne drücken. Zum Lösen wieder nach hinten ziehen. (Abb. 19)
Achtung: Nicht bei SiiS M.
Tipp: Der Bremshebel ist sowohl rechts als auch links am Untergestell montierbar. Dazu einfach die Schraube mit dem
Inbusschlüssel lösen und den Hebel herausziehen. Auf der anderen Seite die Schutzkappe entfernen, den Bremshebel
wieder einstecken und mit der Schraube fixieren (Abb. 20).
Die Hebelbremse und die Höhenverstellung des Sitzes können von den Nutzern selbständig bedient werden, dadurch
erhalten sie ein gewisses Maß an Eigenständigkeit.
Einstellmöglichkeiten / Leistungsmerkmale – Varianten
SiiS M – Sitzhöhe
Zur Einstellung der Sitzhöhe werden der Klemmhebel und die Innensechskantschraube an der Rohraufnahme gelöst.
(Abb. 21) Wenn die gewünschte Sitzhöhe erreicht ist, beide Schrauben wieder fest anziehen.
Tipp: Durch Anheben kann der Klemmhebel frei in die gewünschte Position bewegt werden.
SiiS M – Fußtrittbremse
Der SiiS M ist standardmäßig mit einer Fußtrittbremse ausgestattet. (Abb. 22) Zum Betätigen der Bremse einfach die
Trittfläche mit dem Fuß nach vorne drücken, zum Lösen wieder zurück bewegen . Die Fußtrittbremse kann nur rechts
genutzt werden. Zusätzlich besteht aber die Möglichkeit links eine Handbremse anzubringen, damit das Kind eigenstän-
dig bremsen kann.
Hinweis: Die Fußtrittbremse kann optional auch für die anderen Modelle bestellt werden.
SiiS M und SiiS H – Tiefenverstellung der Impulsgeber
Zur Einstellung die Innensechskantschraube mit einem Inbusschlüssel lösen. Impulsgeber auf die gewünschte Tiefe ein-
stellen und anschließend die Schrauben wieder anziehen. (Abb. 23)
Hinweis: Die tiefenverstellbaren Impulsgeber können optional auch für die anderen Modelle bestellt werden.

Zubehör
Die Montage / Demontage des Zubehörs erfolgt mit handelsüblichem Werkzeug.
Impulsgeber, tiefenverstellbar (Abb. 23)
Zur Einstellung die Innensechskantschraube mit einem Inbusschlüssel lösen. Impulsgeber auf die gewünschte Tiefe ein-
stellen und anschließend die Schrauben wieder anziehen.
Fußtrittbremse, rechts (Abb. 22)
Die Fußtrittbremse ist neben dem Bremshebel eine weitere Möglickeit, das unbeabsichtigte Wegrollen des Thera-
piestuhls zu verhindern. Betreuer und Angehörige können die Bremse mit dem Fuß betätigen.
Vorderrad, bremsbar
Die bremsbaren Vorderräder sorgen für sicheren Stand zusätzlich zu den bremsbaren Hinterrädern.

Wischen Sie alle Kunststoff- und Metallteile des Produktes mit Desinfektionsmittel feucht ab. Es sollten ausschließlich
Mittel auf Wasserbasis verwendet werden. Bei der Desinfektion sind die Anwendungshinweise des entsprechenden Her-
stellers zu beachten.

Wartung und Inspektion durch den Fachhandel
Vorbereitung
Eine Gebrauchsanweisung muss dem Produkt beiliegen. Sollte keine vorhanden sein, fordern Sie diese beim Hersteller
an. Machen Sie sich mit den Funktionen des Produktes vertraut. Sollten Sie das Produkt nicht kennen, lesen Sie vor
der Prüfung die Gebrauchsanweisung. Reinigen Sie das Produkt vor Prüfbeginn. Beachten Sie die in der Gebrauchsan-
weisung enthaltenen Pflegehinweise und produktspezifische Prüfanweisungen. Bei weiteren Fragen kontaktieren Ihren
eingewiesenen Fachberater oder direkt Thomashilfen.
Service und Reparaturen am Produkt dürfen nur von Fachpersonal durchgeführt werden. Der Benutzer dieses Produktes
hat darauf zu achten, dass die vorgeschriebenen Inspektionen / Wartungen regelmäßig und rechtzeitig erfolgen. Ist ein
Schaden erkennbar, muss der Nutzer aktiv informieren und den Schaden sofort durch Fachpersonal beheben lassen.

Ersatzteile
Für Reparaturen dürfen ausschließlich Original-Ersatzteile verwendet werden. Eine Auflistung der Ersatzteile finden Sie
auf www.thomashilfen.de im Internet. Zum Erhalt der richtigen Ersatzteile bzw. für mögliche technische Rückrufe benö-
tigen wir grundsätzlich die Angabe der Seriennummer / UDI-PI und die genaue UDI-DI.
Demontagen / Montagen von Ersatzteilen dürfen grundsätzlich nur durch Fachpersonal durchgeführt werden! Bei erfor-
derlichen Rücksendungen achten Sie bitte darauf, das Produkt transportsicher zu verpacken.
Lagerung
Bewahren Sie das Produkt an einem sicheren Ort auf, wenn es nicht genutzt wird. Stellen und legen Sie während der
Lagerung keine schweren Objekte auf das Produkt. Schützen Sie das Produkt vor Witterungseinflüssen wie Regen,
starker Sonneneinstrahlung und Frost. Sollte das Produkt nass sein, wischen Sie Metall- und Kunststoffteile trocken und
trocknen Sie die Polster, bevor Sie das Produkt einlagern.
Entsorgung
Ist das Produkt aufgrund seines Zustandes nicht mehr verwendungsfähig oder hat das Ende der Lebensdauer erreicht,
kann es beim örtlich zuständigen Entsorgungsunternehmen recycelt werden. Bitte beachten Sie hierbei die vor Ort gel-
tenden Bestimmungen zu Recycling und Entsorgung.

Gewährleistung
Thomashilfen bietet Ihnen für dieses Produkt die zweijährige gesetzliche Gewährleistung. Die Frist beginnt mit dem
Zeitpunkt der Übergabe der Ware. Die Gewährleistung umfasst alle Ansprüche, die die Funktion beeinträchtigen.
Ausgenommen sind Schäden, die durch unsachgemäßen Gebrauch (z. B. Überbelastung), sowie natürlichen Verschleiß
entstehen.
Nutzungsdauer
Das Produkt hat eine Nutzungsdauer von bis zu 6 Jahren bei fachgerechter und regelmäßiger Wartung auf Grundlage
der Herstellerangaben. Das Produkt kann über diesen Zeitraum hinaus verwendet werden, wenn es sich in einem siche-
ren und technisch einwandfreien Zustand befindet. Zeiten der Einlagerung beim Fachhandel sind von der Nutzungsdau-
er ausgenommen.
Die theoretische Nutzungsdauer ist keine garantierte Nutzungsdauer. Sie ist abhängig von der Nutzungsintensität und
unterliegt immer einer Einzelfallprüfung durch den Fachhandel.
Die Nutzungsdauer bezieht sich nicht auf Verschleißteile wie Polster, Bezüge, Räder, Bremsbeläge, etc.
Lebensdauer
Das Produkt hat eine Lebensdauer von 8 Jahren bzw. 2 Wiedereinsätzen (3 Anwender), wenn die bei der Nutzungs-
dauer angegebenen Voraussetzungen erfüllt sind. Die Lebensdauer setzt sich zusammen aus der Nutzungsdauer und
Lagerungszeiten zwischen Wiedereinsätzen.
Wiedereinsatz
Das Produkt ist für den Wiedereinsatz geeignet. Vor einer Weitergabe an den nächsten Nutzer ist das Produkt grund-
sätzlich immer sorgfältig zu reinigen und zu desinfizieren. Der Zustand ist von geschultem Fachpersonal auf Verschleiß
und Beschädigungen hin zu prüfen. Beanstandungen müssen behoben werden, um einen weiteren sicheren Gebrauch
des Produktes zu gewährleisten. Eine Gebrauchsanweisung ist Bestandteil des Produkts und muss an den neuen Nutzer
weitergegeben werden.

Remarks
General Remarks
• Read the Instructions for Use carefully before first use. If you have difficulty reading, please have them read to you.
If the copy of the Instructions for Use is missing, you can download one from www.thomashilfen.de. The contents of
the digital Instructions for Use can be enlarged.
• Check the packaging for any transport damage and to be sure the product is in flawless condition.
• Changes to the product are only permitted within the scope of the intended adjustment options.
• Cleaning and daily care can be provided by relatives and caregivers. Maintenance and inspection are done by the
distributor.
• Clean the frame of the product as needed.
• All of the screws to the product have to be warmed prior to removal because they are fastened with a thread locker.
If the product is to be put back together again, all of the screws have to be secured with a thread locker.
• All labels have to remain on the product and should not be tampered with.
Safety Instructions
• Check at least every 3 months that the settings on the product still work for the user’s current body measurements. If
need be, have a distributor / orthopaedic technician adjust the settings.
• Do regular (weekly) checks to make sure that the setting options on the product work.
• Be careful of the moving parts when adjusting or folding the product.
• Only lift up the product by its firmly welded or screwed parts.
• Before each use check that all the nuts, bolts, and screws are tight.
• Please do not overload the product and note the maximum user weight and the maximum load capacity (see techni-
cal data).
• Never leave the user unattended with the product.
• The product should only be used by one user at a time. No other individuals should be placed in or on the product.
• Do not hang heavy bags or other objects on the product because this increases the risk of tipping.
• There is a risk of tipping over on uneven ground and when overcoming thresholds.
• Always make sure the brake / parking brake is working before using the product. If the brake isn’t working right, the
product shouldn’t be used.
• The parking brake always has to be engaged when putting the user into or taking the user out of the product.
• When stopping briefly or for a longer time, use the brake so the product doesn’t accidently roll away.
• Wet tyres can have a negative impact on braking.
• If you are not using the product, don’t leave the brake engaged. Leaving the parking brake constantly engaged can
damage the tyres.
• Intense sunlight and heat can lead to high surface temperatures on the product. As a result, there is a risk of injury
when touching the product. Only use the product once it has cooled down enough. In general, try to protect the
product from direct sunlight.
• If there is a serious and unexpected accident with the product, please inform our company immediately and the
responsible authorities.

Intended Purpose
Intended Use / Application Areas
The SiiS therapy chair is a class 1 medical device.
The therapy chair is intended for indoor use only. It is suitable for use at home, kindergarten, school, and work The
therapy chair is characterised by the seat block in various models, the iliac crest support, and the impulse generator on
the back. It allows the user to regulate tone and promotes sensory processing. With the therapy chair hand movements
are not restricted meaning the motor and fine motor abilities of the user are maintained and promoted. The height of the
seat can be adjusted by the user. The user is able to move independently to a mobility aid such as a walker or wheel-
chair.
Any use that goes above and beyond this does not comply with the intended use.
Indication / Patient Target Group / Intended Users
The product and its various models are suitable for children, adolescents, and adults with a sitting disability due to a
functional and / or structural injury to the torso or to the toros muscles and perhaps even neck muscles resulting in
poor posture. These include all kinds of sensorimotor dysfunctions with, for instance, spastic movement disorders up to
hypotonic dysregulation. The product facilitates and maintains a physiological sitting position that is as ideal as possible.
The user’s legs have to have a minimum ability to provide support. Furthermore, the user has to have minimum torso
control, which can be activated when stimulated and can be changed into normotone tension. The product is also suit-
able for users with sensory processing disorders and concentration disorders.
Risks Associated with Use and Contraindications
If used properly, risks can be eliminated during use. There are no known contraindications.
Make sure with the help of a doctor or therapist that the product is suitable for the user.
Product Description
Scope of Delivery
Your product is delivered with the standard equipment and comes preassembled. Any accessories ordered along with
the product are included and have to be assembled subsequently. A copy of the Instructions for Use is enclosed with
the product.

Putting into Service
• Carefully remove the transport protection and the packaging.
• Keep the packaging material and small parts out of the reach of children to prevent swallowing or choking.
The SiiS therapy chair is delivered completely assembled except for the push bar. The push bar is placed onto the
cylinders above the back wheels. Attach the push bar with the screws and washers provided. The holes above the back
wheels (Fig. 13 (1)) are closed using the cover caps enclosed. Hint: SiiS M is delivered without a push bar.

Teaching the User
The user is taught how to use this device by trained staff who will reference these Instructions for Use.
Adjustment Options / Features
The special needs of the user require an individual adjustment of the SiiS therapy chair. Therefore, you should adjust the
SiiS therapy chair consulting your doctor or therapist, until the best possible straightening of the user is reached.
Positioning recommendation for users
1. Feet
The feet must always have firm contact with the floor and, in addition, be in a symmetrical position. (Fig. 9)
2. Seat height
Height adjustment – in order to accomplish the correct positioning of the knee and hip joints. The height of the seat
has to be adjusted so the user has floor contact with their feet. In practice, a knee angle and hip angle above 90° has
proven itself and achieved good body straightening results. (Fig. 10)
3. Pelvic position
Adjusting the body straightening and orientation impulse using the small, firm iliac crest support. It is positioned at the
lower iliac crest – often in direct contact with this region. This iliac crest element can be adjusted individually in height
and depth. (Fig. 11)
4. Impulse generators
Positioning the punctiform impulse generators: Each user reacts to individual stimulation points located between the
lower part of the thoracic spine and below the shoulder blades. The impulse generators must be adjusted at height level
of these points to initiate straightening of the trunk upon contact with the impulse generators. (Fig. 12)
Seat
The seat height adjustment is infinitely variable, allowing the legs to be positioned correctly.
Seat height
Pull the lever on the right underneath the seat block upwards to individually adjust the height. When the desired height
is reached, release the lever. (Abb. 14)
Additionally, the gas spring can be adjusted by another 10 cm / 3.9“ using an Allen key (Abb. 15 (1)). This facilitates
overcoming e.g. high thresholds. To prevent a twisting of the seat the hexagon socket screw (Abb. 15 (2)) needs to be
tightened on all modells at any time.
Tip: To remove the seat, loosen both screws.
The firm seat block provides a maximum of sensory stimulation to the user.
The long seat surface serves to facilitate forward placement of the arms (stabilization, creating symmetry, regulating
tone); in addition, interim changes to spinal cord strain can be accomplished by supporting the arms on the seat block.
The ergonomic seat block sets the physiological body posture. The sloped seat surface at the rear end of the seat block
area tilts the pelvis slightly, so the spine can be straightened.
Back
Iliac crest support
The small, firm iliac crest support with low body contact serves for stabilization. (Fig. 11) It is individually adjustable to
the user in height and depth.
To adjust the height of the iliac crest support, loosen the hand screw and re-tighten after adjustment. (Fig. 16)

The depth of the iliac crest support can be adjusted underneath the seat. Loosen the hand screws and individually ad-
just the depth. Afterwards re-tighten the hand screws again. (Fig. 17)
Impulse generators
The punctiform impulse generators communicate orientation via the position of the back and at the same time have a
stimulating effect on the body straightening and orientation process. The height can be adjusted to the individual need
of the user. (Abb. 18)
To adjust the impulse generators, loosen the Allen screws and adjust the desired height by either pulling the impulse
generators upwards or pushing them downwards. Afterwards re-tighten the screws.
Base frame
The base frame offers versatile adjustment options for individual customization to the person and particular situation.
The base frame guarantees good rolling functionality and a lot of leg room which, if applicable, offers sufficient freedom
of movement during the initiation of a contra lateral gait pattern (alternately setting down the feet) from a seated posi-
tion.
The therapy chair is tilt resistant when standing solid on plane ground.
The push bar provides good conditions for the chair to be pushed by an assistant, even over longer distances. The user
can also use the bar as a “handle” for transfer and movement.
Hint: SiiS M is delivered without push bar.
Brake
To brake the rear wheels, press the lever forwards. To release the brake, pull the lever backwards again. (Abb. 19)
Hint: Not possible with SiiS M.
Hint: The lever can be mounted on either left or right side of the base frame. Simply loosen the screw, using the Allen
key, and pull the lever out. Remove the cover cap on the other side, refit the brake lever and tighten with the screw.
(Abb. 20).
The user can independently operate the lever brake and height adjustment, providing them with a certain degree of
autonomy.
Adjustment Options / Features – Options
SiiS M – Seat height
To adjust the seat height, please loosen the clamp lever and the Allen head screw on the tube retainer. (Abb. 21) As
soon as the required height is set, please tighten the screws back up.
Hint: By lifting the clamp lever, it can easily be moved in the desired position.
SiiS M – Foot brake
SiiS M features a foot brake as standard. (Abb. 22) To activate the brake, simply press the tread forwards with the foot.
To release the break, move the tread backwards. The foot brake can only be used on the right side. In addition, there is
the option to fit a hand brake on the left in order to provide the child with their own braking facility.
Hint: The foot brake can also be ordered as accessory for the other models.
SiiS M and SiiS H – Depth adjustment of the impulse generators
Loosen the Allen head screw with an Allen key. Position the impulse generators at correct depth and re-tighten the
screws. (Abb. 23)

Accessories
The assembly / disassembly of the accessories is done with standard tools.

Loosen the Allen head screw with an Allen key. Position the impulse generators at correct depth and re-tighten the
screws.
Foot brake, right (Fig. 22)
In addition to the brake lever, the foot brake is another way to prevent the therapy chair from rolling away unintention-
ally. Carers and relatives can operate the brake with their foot.
Front wheel, brakable
The brakable front wheels ensure safe standing in addition to the brakable rear wheels.

Disinfection
Clean the padding, plastic parts, and metal parts before disinfecting.
Damp wipe all the plastic and metal parts on the product with disinfectant. Only water-based products should be used.
When disinfecting note the directions from the manufacturer in question.
Maintenance and inspection by the distributor
Preparation
A copy of the Instructions for Use has to be enclosed with the product. If one is not available, request a copy from the
distributor. Familiarise yourself with how the product works. If you are not familiar with the product, read the Instruc-
tions for Use before testing it. Clean the product before starting to test is. Please note the care instructions in the Instruc-
tions for Use and product-specific test instructions. If you have further questions, please contact the staff member you
dealt with or Thomashilfen directly.
Service and repairs to the product should only be done by qualified staff. It is the user’s responsibility to ensure that the
prescribed inspections / maintenance are done regularly and in a timely fashion. If damage is apparent, the user has to
actively inform and have the damage fixed immediately by qualified staff.

Spare Parts
Only original spare parts should be used for repairs. A list of the spare parts is available at www.thomashilfen.de. To
receive the right spare parts or for possible technical recalls, we normally require the serial number / UDI-PI and the
exact UDI-DI.
Removal / installation of spare parts should only be done by qualified staff! In the event of returns, please make sure the
product is securely packaged for transportation.
Storage
Store the product in a safe place when it is not being used. Do not lay or put any heavy objects on the product while
it is being stored. Protect the product from weather like rain, intense sunlight, and frost. If the product is wet, wipe the
metal and plastic parts dry and let the padding dry before storing the product.
Disposal
If the product is no longer usable due to its condition or it has reached the end of its service life, it can be recycled at
the local waste disposal company. Please refer to the local guidelines for recycling and disposal.

EU Declaration of Conformity
We hereby declare as the party solely responsible that this product and any versions and accessories comply with the
basic regulations. The current EU Declaration of Conformity can be downloaded at www.thomashilfen.de or requested
from us directly.
Warranty
Thomashilfen offers you the two-year warranty as required by law for this product. The warranty period starts when the
item is handed over. The warranty includes all claims which impact function. Not included is damage which is the result
of improper use (e.g. overloading) and natural wear and tear.
Period of Use
The product has a period of use of up to 6 years if used correctly and serviced regularly by a professional as per the
information from the manufacturer. The product can be used beyond this point if it is in safe and technically sound con-
dition. Time spent in storage at the distributor does not count towards the period of use.
The theoretical period of use does not equate to a guaranteed service life. It depends on the intensity of use and always
undergoes an individual assessment by the distributor.
The period of use does not apply to wear parts like padding, covers, tyres, brake pads, etc.
Service Life
The product has a service life of 8 years or 2 reuses (3 users) if the requirements stipulated for the period of use are met.
The service life consists of the period of use and the storage times between reuses.
Reuse
The product is suitable to be reused. Before being passed on to the next user the product always has to be carefully
cleaned and disinfected. The condition has to be checked by trained staff for any wear and damage. Any issues have to
be remedied to ensure the continued safe use of the product. A copy of the Instructions for Use is a component of the
product and has to be passed on to the new user.
