Performing Bereits seit 2016 feiert das Performing Arts
Festival Berlin nun schon über vier Ausgaben hinweg die
Arts
Vielfalt der freien Szene Berlins. Auch in diesem Jahr hät-
ten zahlreiche Künstler*innen und Gruppen mit Arbeiten
aus Schauspiel, Performance, Tanz, Musik-, Puppen- und
Figurentheater die kleinen und großen Bühnen der Stadt
Festival
mit Leben gefüllt und die fünfte Ausgabe gestaltet. Doch
in diesem Jahr ist alles anders. Die weltweite Verbreitung
des Covid19-Virus fordert gemeinschaftliches Handeln und
aufgrund der ergriffenen Maßnahmen zur Eidämmung des
Berlin
Virus kann das Performing Arts Festival Berlin nicht wie
geplant stattfinden. Das ursprüngliche Programm soll aber
kein Geheimnis bleiben – und so soll dieser Spielplan einen
Eindruck von der Vielfalt und Kreativität der Programm-

beiträge und damit der freien darstellenden Künste Berlins
geben.
Das PAF Team freut sich umso mehr, in Form einer neuen
Zusammenarbeit mit allen am Festival beteiligten Künst-
ler*innen und Spielstätten zur ersten Online-Edition des
Performing Arts Festival Berlin vom 19. bis 24. Mai 2020
einzuladen.

Since its launch in 2016, the Berlin Performing
Arts Festival has now celebrated the diversity of Berlin’s
independent performing arts community over the course
of four editions. This year as well, numerous artists and
groups with work in the fields of theater, performance,
dance, music theater, puppet theater and figure theater
would have filled stages large and small throughout the
city with life and thus made up the fifth edition of the festi-
val. This year, however, everything is different. The spread
of the COVID-19 virus throughout the world requires colla-
borative action and, due to the measures taken to slow the
spread of the virus, the Berlin Performing Arts Festival
cannot take place as originally planned. The intended sche-
dule of programming, should definitely not be forgotten
and this program booklet will give an impression of the
diversity and creativity of the contributions to the schedule

of programming and thus that of Berlin’s independent per-
forming arts community.
The PAF team is greatly looking forward to be able to

An fünf Tagen heißt es damit auch in diesem Jahr,
künstlerische Arbeiten aus Schauspiel, Tanz,
Performance, Musiktheater, Figuren- und Objekt-
theater und Interventionen im öffentlichen Raum an
»DON´T LET ME BE MISUNDERSTOOD« Spielorten im gesamten Stadtraum zu entdecken.
Konstruktive Realitätserweiterung Durch die Vielfalt der freien darstellenden Künste
führen erstmals sechs thematische Programm-
reihen, die sich aktuellen gesellschaftlichen Fragen
widmen. Dem künstlerischen Nachwuchs ist mit
„Introducing…“ eine eigene siebte Programmreihe
gewidmet, mit der sich neue Talente hier vorstel-
