And spanning two kilo- meters running north to south are works by Horst Antes, Hap Grieshaber, Johannes Itten, EXTRA TIPPS Fritz Koenig, Florian Lechner, Adolf Luther, and Wilhelm Uhlig. Nature Westbound along the river is the perfect spot for nature lovers and the ath- letically inclined. Soaring skyward at the northernmost point of the Danube is the artwork by Wigg Bäuml. The view opens out on to hillside vineyards and fields. It’s an ideal place to unwind, bathe in the Danube, and watch paragliders dart around in the wind. 52 52 53

Relax and enjoy. It is the mix of urban vibrancy, wild nature on the shores of the Danube, varied dining, exquisite landscaping, and a plethora of art that makes Regensburg so attractive. Dedicated gallery owners bring international art to Regensburg, young artists give the city its own unique rhythm, and the muse- ums generate impact well beyond the local region through their exhibitions. Sur- prisingly diverse. Sometimes recalcitrant. Always open.
