Spätestens seit Davos…
….und dem World Economic Forum (WEF) 2020 weiß
jeder: Die globale ökonomische Herausforderung ist auf
Dauer nicht mehr mit blanken Renditeerfolgen zu meis-
tern. Das Umfeld, in dem wir unsere wirtschaftlichen
Ziele erreichen müssen, enthält immer stärker auch
andere Komponenten: Das abgewogene Miteinander
und eine wachsende Verantwortung für Themen au-
ßerhalb unserer ureigenen Aufgaben prägen zuneh-
mend unser Handeln.
Wir als Fraport AG verantworten den reibungslosen Großbetrieb eines Weltflughafens
mit wichtiger Drehscheibenfunktion. Wir sind uns bei einem Passagiervolumen von erst-
mals über 70 Millionen Gästen im Jahr 2019 durchaus auch unserer sozialen Verantwor-
tung bewusst, die wir als großer Dienstleister und Arbeitgeber haben. Aus dieser Per-
spektive heraus sind wir glücklich, eine einzigartige, humanitäre Organisation auf unse-
rem Flughafen in der Cargo City Süd zu beheimaten. Mit Luftfahrt ohne Grenzen / Wings
of Help e.V. verfügt Frankfurt über eine weltweit aktive Hilfsorganisation, die das Netz
des internationalen Luftverkehrs, seine dichten Flugpläne und großen Frachtkapazitäten
nutzt, um Hilfsgüter zu notleidenden Menschen in aller Welt zu bringen. Wohl kaum eine
andere Hilfsorganisation in Deutschland hat diese große Nähe zum Flugverkehr wie Luft-
fahrt ohne Grenzen / Wings of Help e.V.. Das freut uns außerordentlich. Denn uns ist
durchaus bewusst: Wir können in diesem Umfeld mithelfen, Gutes zu tun - in Europa, in
Afrika, in Asien, auf den amerikanischen Kontinenten bei Katastrophen, seien sie natur-
bedingt oder von Menschen gemacht.
Ebenso freuen wir uns, dass diese seit nunmehr 17 Jahren tätige Hilfsorganisation gera-
de die Weichen für ihre eigene Zukunft nachhaltig stellen konnte. Nicht nur, dass Luft-
fahrt ohne Grenzen / Wings of Help e.V. heute eines der zertifizierten Mitglieder des an-
gesehenen Deutschen Spendenrats ist, sondern weil die Organisation jetzt auch über
eine eigene Stiftung verfügt. Die neue „Wings of Help Stiftung“ unterstreicht mit ihren kla-
ren Finanzregularien die Solidität der engagierten Organisation, die sich übrigens bei ih-
rer segensreichen Arbeit insbesondere auf ehrenamtliche Mitarbeiter stützen kann.
Seit Gründung im Jahr 2003 hat Luftfahrt ohne Grenzen e.V./Wings of Help Hilfsgüter mit
einem Volumen von mehr als 6.000 Tonnen zu Menschen in Not gebracht. Von Zelten bis
Medikamenten. Von Kleidung bis zu Lebensmitteln. Das Flugzeug war dabei das ent-
scheidende und oftmals lebensrettende Transportmittel. Der Frankfurter Flughafen bleibt
dieser humanitären Arbeit eng verbunden und hilft nach besten Kräften mit, Luftfahrt
ohne Grenzen / Wings of Help e.V. weiterhin stabilen Auftrieb zu geben.

global economic challenge can no longer be mastered with bare returns in the long
run. The environment in which we have to achieve our economic goals is increasingly
receiving other components as well: The balanced cooperation and a growing respon-
sibility for topics outside of our own tasks increasingly shape our work and decisions.
As Fraport AG, we are responsible for the perfekt operation of a global airport with an
important hub function. With a passenger volume of over 70 million guests in 2019 for
the first time, we are also well aware of our social responsibility, which we have as a
major service provider and employer. From this perspective, we are happy to be home
to a unique, humanitarian organization at our airport in Cargo City Süd. With Luftfahrt
ohne Grenzen / Wings of Help e.V., Frankfurt has a globally active aid organization
that uses the network of international air traffic, its dense flight schedules and large
freight capacities to deliver relief goods to people in need all over the world. Hardly any
other aid organization in Germany has this close proximity to air traffic such as Luft-
fahrt ohne Grenzen / Wings of Help e.V. We are extremely pleased. Because we are
well aware that we can help to do good in this environment - in Europe, in Africa, in
Asia, on the American continents in the event of disasters, be they natural or man-
made.
We are also pleased that this charitable aid organization, which has been active for 17
years, has set the course for its own future. Not only that it is one of the certified mem-
bers of the respected German Donation Council “Deutscher Spendenrat”, but because
the organization now also has its own foundation. With its clear financial regulations,
the new “Wings of Help Stiftung” underlines the solidity of the committed organization,
which, by the way, can rely in particular on voluntary employees in their beneficial
work.
Since its foundation in 2003, Luftfahrt ohne Grenzen / Wings of Help e.V. has brought
relief goods with a volume of more than 6,000 tons to people in need. From tents to
medication. From clothing to food. An airplane was the decisive and often life-saving
means of transport. Frankfurt Airport remains closely connected to this humanitarian
work and does its best to help keep Luftfahrt ohne Grenzen / Wings of Help e.V. in a
stable ascent.

“The Smile of the Child” does not belong to any particular or small group of individu-
