2.1 CP 5603 Lieferumfang
Im Folgenden werden 5 Liefervarianten vorgestellt.
● CP 5603 Kommunikationsprozessor – 6GK1560-3AA00
Folgende Teile gehören zum Lieferumfang:
o Kommunikationsprozessor CP 5603 bestehend aus einer PCI-104 Basisbaugruppe mit
aktivem RS485-Modul und 12-poligem Flachbandkabel
o Montagematerial: Zur Befestigung der CP 5603-Basisbaugruppe auf dem PCI-104-
Stapel werden 4 Bolzen (M3, 15mm) mitgeliefert. Um das aktive RS485-Modul in dem
Erweiterungsrahmen zu befestigen, werden 2 Verriegelungsbolzen (4-40 UNC, 8mm)
mitgeliefert.
o SIMATIC NET PC Software CD und Manual Collection DVD
o Vorliegende Betriebsanleitung (kompakt)
● Einbaukit CP 5603 für Microbox PC – 6GK1560-3AA00-0AU0

Der Kommunikationsprozessor CP 5603 hat folgende Produktmerkmale:

Voraussetzung
Der Plug & Play -Manager ist im BIOS aktiviert.
Installation des CP 5603-Treibers
Der Treiber wird automatisch installiert, wenn Sie die SIMATIC NET PC Software oder das
Programm WinAC installieren.
Deinstallation des CP 5603-Treibers
Der Treiber wird automatisch deinstalliert, wenn Sie die SIMATIC NET PC Software oder
das Programm WinAC deinstallieren.

VORSICHT
Greifen Sie beim Hantieren mit der Baugruppe nicht auf die Anschlüsse bzw. auf die
elektronischen Bauelemente.
Bitte beachten Sie die Maßnahmen gegen elektrostatische Aufladung (EGB -
Elektrostatisch gefährdete Bauelemente)
Einstellen der PCI-104 Moduladresse
Jedes PCI-104 Modul muss eine seiner Position entsprechend Moduladresse bekommen.
Die Moduladresse wird über den Adressschalter (s.u.) eingestellt. Im Kapitel 2.3 wird die
Position des Adressschalters gezeigt.
Die Moduladresse wird wie folgt beschrieben am Adressschalter eingestellt:

ACHTUNG
Moduladresse 4 ist in der SIMATIC Microbox nicht erlaubt.
ACHTUNG
Achten Sie darauf, dass alle Moduladressen passend zum Steckplatz eingestellt werden
müssen, bevor das Gerät in Betrieb genommen wird.

VORSICHT
Wegen thermischer Anforderungen dürfen maximal zwei CP 5603 in der SIMATIC
Microbox gleichzeitig betrieben werden.
Falls Sie noch andere PCI-104 Module zusammen mit dem CP 5603 in einer SIMATIC
Microbox betreiben wollen, beachten Sie bitte den Abschnitt über die thermischen
Anforderungen im Handbuch der SIMATIC Microbox.
Vorgehensweise beim Einbau in den SIMATIC Microbox PC
Folgende Darstellung zeigt den Kommunikationsprozessor CP 5603, eingebaut in einem
SIMATIC Microbox PC

Gehen Sie beim Einbau und Anschluss des CP 5603 wie folgt vor:
1. Fahren Sie Ihren Rechner herunter, und trennen Sie diesen von der
Spannungsversorgung.
2. Öffnen Sie das Rechnergehäuse wie im Handbuch Ihres Microbox beschrieben.
3. Stellen Sie die Moduladresse auf dem CP 5603, wie in Kapitel 4 beschrieben, ein.
4. Stecken Sie den CP 5603 auf den vorbereiteten PCI-104-Steckplatz. Achten Sie darauf,
dass der CP 5603 fest und gleichmäßig steckt.
5. Nehmen Sie die 4 mitgelieferten Abstandsbolzen M3, 15mm, Schlüsselweite 5mm und
verschrauben Sie den CP 5603 mit den darunter liegenden Abstandsbolzen.
6. Schrauben Sie mit den mitgelieferten Schrauben den Microbox-Erweiterungsrahmen für
CP 5603 auf das Gehäuse des Microbox PC.
7. Verschrauben Sie das aktive RS485-Modul mit dem Microbox Erweiterungsrahmen.
Benutzen Sie die dafür mitgelieferten Verriegelungsbolzen, 4-40 UNC, 8mm,
Schlüsselweite 4,5mm.
8. Schließen Sie das Rechnergehäuse, indem Sie das Deckelblech auf den
Erweiterungsrahmen schrauben.
9. Stecken Sie das PROFIBUS-Kabel in die entsprechende PROFIBUS-Buchse des aktiven
RS485-Moduls.
10. Schließen Sie den Rechner wieder an die Spannungsversorgung an und fahren Sie den
Rechner wieder hoch.

Vorgehensweise beim Einbau einen SIMATIC S7 modularen Embedded Controller (mEC)
Folgende Darstellung zeigt den Kommunikationsprozessor CP 5603, eingebaut in einem
SIMATIC S7-mEC (modular Embedded Controller)
Gehen Sie beim Einbau und Anschluss des CP 5603 wie folgt vor:
1. Fahren Sie Ihren Rechner herunter, und trennen Sie diesen von der
Spannungsversorgung.
2. Öffnen Sie die Extension-Box wie im Handbuch des mEC beschrieben.
3. Stellen Sie die Moduladresse auf dem CP 5603, wie in Kapitel 4 beschrieben, ein.
4. Stecken Sie den CP 5603 auf den vorbereiteten PCI-104-Steckplatz. Achten Sie darauf,
dass der CP 5603 fest und gleichmäßig steckt.
5. Nehmen Sie die 4 mitgelieferten Abstandsbolzen M3, 15mm, Schlüsselweite 5mm und
verschrauben Sie den CP 5603 mit den darunter liegenden Abstandsbolzen.
6. Tauschen Sie das Standardeinschubblech der Extension-Box gegen das Einschubblech
für den CP 5603 aus.
7. Verschrauben Sie das aktive RS485-Modul mit dem Einschubblech des modularen
Embedded Controllers. Benutzen Sie die dafür mitgelieferten Verriegelungsbolzen 4-40
UNC, 8mm, Schlüsselweite 4,5mm.
8. Schließen Sie die Extension-Box an, wie dies im Handbuch des mEC beschrieben ist.
9. Stecken Sie das PROFIBUS-Kabel in die entsprechende PROFIBUS-Buchse des aktiven
RS485-Moduls.
10. Schließen Sie den Controller wieder an die Spannungsversorgung an und fahren Sie den
Controller wieder hoch.

Kennzeichnung
Position der Kennzeichnungen
Zur Identifizierung der CP 5603 Baugruppe von außen, liegen der Verpackung verschiedene
Aufkleber bei. Bitte bringen Sie die Aufkleber, wie im obigen Bild vorgeschlagen, an.

Konfigurieren und Projektieren 5
Projektierung
Nach dem Einbau des CP 5603 in die Microbox bzw. in die mEC Extension-Box und nach
Installation der SIMATIC NET PC Software, ist der nächste Schritt die Konfiguration des
CP 5603 mittels der SIMATIC NET PC Software.
Das weitere Vorgehen ist im Handbuch „PC-Stationen in Betrieb nehmen“ beschrieben:

Hinweis
Die Baugruppe wird von der SIMATIC NET PC Software CD als CP 5613 A2 erkannt. Dieses
Verhalten stellt die Kompatibilität zu bestehenden Anwendungen sicher.
Hinweis
Die Funktionalität „DPC2_data_transport()" des DPC2-Protokolls ist für CP 5603 als DP-
Master und als DP-Slave bis auf weiteres gesperrt.
Diese Einschränkung gilt auch für die OPC DPC2–DataTransport-Items.
Status-LEDs Anzeige
Auf dem aktiven RS485-Modul befinden sich Leuchtdioden zur Anzeige des Status des CP
5603. Die folgende Tabelle beschreibt die Betriebszustände:

2.1 Components of the CP 5603 product

The following components are supplied:
o CP 5603 communications processor consisting of a PCI-104 basic module with an
active RS-485 module and a 12-pin ribbon cable
o Installation material: To secure the CP 5603 basic module on the PCI-104 stack, four
bolts (M3, 15 mm) are supplied. To secure the active RS-485 module in the expansion
frame, two locking bolts (4-40 UNC, 8 mm) are supplied.

2.3 Description of the product
The following illustration shows the CP 5603 communications processor with active RS-485

CP 5603 communications processor
The CP 5603 communications processor has the following characteristics:
● PCI-104 interface
● Fast commissioning with Plug & Play capability
● DP master mode (DP base) with up to 124 DP slaves with full data consistency
● Relief for the PC due to event mechanisms (automatic detection of data changes)
● "Fast Logic" support: Automatic linking of input and output data can be set by the user
● Support of all data transmission speeds from 9.6 kbps to 12 Mbps according to the
PROFIBUS standard

The Plug & Play manager is enabled in the BIOS.
Installing the CP 5603 driver
The driver is installed automatically when you install the SIMATIC NET PC Software or the
WinAC program.
Uninstalling the CP 5603 driver
The driver is uninstalled automatically when you uninstall the SIMATIC NET PC Software or
the WinAC program.

Caution
When handling the module, make sure that you do not touch the connectors or the
electronic components.
Please remember to keep to the measures to prevent electrostatic discharge (ESD-

Setting the PCI-104 module address
Each PCI-104 module must be assigned a module address according to its position. The
module address is set using the address switch (see below). Chapter 2.3 shows the position
of the address switch.
The module address is set at the address switch as described below:

Notice
Module address 4 is not permitted in the SIMATIC Microbox.
Notice
Make sure that all module addresses are set so that they match the slot before you

Caution
Due to thermal requirements, a maximum of two CP 5603 modules can be operated at the
same time in the SIMATIC Microbox.
If you want to operate other PCI-104 modules along with the CP 5603 in a SIMATIC
Microbox, please read the section on the thermal requirements in the manual of the
SIMATIC Microbox.
Procedure for installation in the SIMATIC Microbox PC
The following illustration shows the CP 5603 communications processor installed in a
SIMATIC Microbox PC

To install and attach the CP 5603 follow the steps outlined below:
1. Shut down your computer and disconnect it from the power supply.
2. Open the computer housing as described in the manual accompanying your Microbox.
3. Set the module address on the CP 5603 as described in Chapter 4.
4. Insert the CP 5603 into the prepared PCI-104 slot. Make sure that the CP 5603 sits firmly
and uniformly.
5. Take the 4 supplied distancing bolts M3, 15 mm, 5 mm wrench size and secure the CP
5603 using the distancing bolts below it.
6. Using the screws supplied, screw the Microbox expansion frame for CP 5603 (with
components fitted) to the housing of the Microbox PC.
7. Bolt the active RS-485 module to the Microbox expansion frame. Use the supplied
locking bolts 4-40 UNC, 8 mm, 4.5 mm wrench size.
8. Close the computer housing by screwing the cover plate onto the expansion frame.
9. Insert the PROFIBUS cable in the PROFIBUS socket of the active RS-485 module.
10. Reconnect the computer to the power supply and start up the computer again.

Procedure for installation in the SIMATIC S7 modular Embedded Controller (mEC)
The following illustration shows the CP 5603 communications processor installed in a
SIMATIC S7-mEC (modular Embedded Controller)
To install and attach the CP 5603 follow the steps outlined below:
1. Shut down your computer and disconnect it from the power supply.
2. Open the extension box as described in the manual of the mEC.
3. Set the module address on the CP 5603 as described in Chapter 4.
4. Insert the CP 5603 into the prepared PCI-104 slot. Make sure that the CP 5603 sits firmly
and uniformly.
5. Take the 4 supplied distancing bolts M3, 15 mm, 5 mm wrench size and secure the CP
5603 using the distancing bolts below it.
6. Replace the standard insert panel of the extension box with the insert plate for the CP
5603.
7. Bolt the active RS-485 module to the Embedded Controller insert plate. Use the supplied
locking bolts 4-40 UNC, 8 mm, 4.5 mm wrench size.
8. Close the extension box as described in the manual of the mEC.
9. Insert the PROFIBUS cable in the PROFIBUS socket of the active RS-485 module.
10. Reconnect the controller to the power supply and start up the computer again.

Project engineering
After installing the CP 5603 in the Microbox or in the mEC extension box and installing the
SIMATIC NET PC software, the next step is to configure the CP 5603 using the SIMATIC
NET PC software.
The remaining steps involved are described in the "Commissioning PC Stations" manual.

Note
The module is detected by the SIMATIC NET PC software CD as a CP 5613 A2. This
reaction ensures compatibility with existing applications.
Note
The “DPC2_data_transport()" functionality of the DPC2 protocol ist not permitted for CP 5603
as DP master and as DP slave.
This restriction also applies to the OPC DPC2 data transport items.
Displays of the status LEDs
There are LEDs on the active RS-485 module to indicate the status of the CP 5603. The
following table describes the operating states:
