VORWORT | FOREWORD
Seit 2015 veröffentlicht die für diese Querschnittsbranche zuständige
Behörde im Zweijahresturnus aktuelle Daten zur ökonomischen Bedeutung
der Gesundheitswirtschaft für Hamburg und zu ihren Ausstrahleffekten auf
das Umland und Deutschland insgesamt.
Basis der Auswertung sind jeweils die validen Daten des Vorvorjahres. So
sind Grundlage der diesjährigen Studie die Zahlen von 2019. Doch angesichts
der Corona-Pandemie mit ihren erheblichen Auswirkungen auf die Wirtschafts-
lage insgesamt und die Gesundheitswirtschaft im Besonderen, hat das WifOR
Institut bereits jetzt eine zusätzliche Sonderauswertung für das Jahr 2020
erstellt.
Gegenüber den Vorjahresdaten sind die 2020er Daten mit größeren statis
tischen Unsicherheiten verbunden. Dennoch geben sie wichtige Hinweise auf
die wirtschaftlichen Auswirkungen der Pandemie auf einen der bedeutendsten
Wirtschaftszweige in Hamburg. Diese Broschüre stellt ausgewählte Daten für
2019 und 2020 vor. Wichtigste Erkenntnis ist, dass die Gesundheitswirtschaft
in Hamburg stabil durch das Jahr 2020 gekommen ist.
Since 2015, the authority responsible for this cross-sectional industry has
published up-to-date data on the economic significance of the health economy
for Hamburg and its spillover effects on the surrounding regions and Germany
every two years.
The analysis is based on valid data from the previous year. This year‘s study is
based on the figures for 2019. However, considering the Corona pandemic with its
considerable impact on the economic situation as a whole and the health economy
in particular, WifOR Institute has already prepared an additional special evaluation
for 2020.
Compared to the previous year‘s data, this 2020 data is subject to greater
statistical uncertainty. Nevertheless, it provides important insights on the
economic impact of the pandemic on one of the most important economic
sectors in Hamburg. This brochure presents selected data for 2019 and 2020.
The most important finding is that the health economy in Hamburg has been
stable through 2020.
