It’s about our blue planet!
ethecon honours the Kenyan human rights and environmental activist Phyllis Omido and
vilifies the ultra-rich company founder, CEO and major shareholder Jeffrey Bezos of
AMAZON Inc. / Public ceremony for the presentation of the ethecon awards on November
21th, 2020 in Berlin.
As is tradition, on the date of the international day of peace, the 21st of September 2020
the international foundation ethecon announces the names of the recipients of their two
awards:
The International ethecon Blue Planet Award 2020 honors the commitment of the
Kenyan human rights and environmental activist Phyllis Omido.
The International ethecon Dead Planet Award 2020 vilifies Jeffrey Bezos, the ultra-
rich company-founder, CEO and major shareholder of AMAZON.
The award ceremony of the ethecon awards will be accompanied with an celebratory act
that will be open to the public on November 21, 2020 at the Kulturbrauerei.
Phyllis Omido courageously and selflessly committed herself to the fight against the
highly toxic melting down of used batteries for lead extraction, which is widespread in Kenya.
She courageously stood in the way of criminal businessmen and politicians*, did not allow
herself to be intimidated by assassination attempts and successfully fought for the closure of
lead smelting plants and environmental protection measures. The organization CJGEA,
which she founded and supports, is consistently working to ensure access to clean drinking
water, the cleaning of poisoned soil and safe working conditions. For her commitment to
justice, health, environmental protection and the strengthening of democratic principles,
ethecon Foundation Ethics & Economy honours Phyllis Omido with the international ethecon
Blue Planet Award 2020.
Jeffrey Preston Bezos from the world's largest online mail order company, cloud service
provider, data processing and monitoring group AMAZON (USA) is quite different. As CEO,
company founder and largest shareholder of the mega-monopoly, Bezos is responsible for
the worldwide dismantling of labour rights, the deterioration of employment relationships, the
destruction of the livelihoods of millions of retailers, for comprehensive surveillance,
incalculable damage to human health, nature and the Earth's climate with irreparable
consequences for humanity and the planet. For these crimes, ethecon vilifies the company
founder, CEO and major shareholder Jeffrey Bezos publicly, by presenting the International
ethecon Dead Planet Award 2020.
The ethecon positiv- and negativ-awards are being awarded since 2006. The
International ethecon Blue Planet Award honours heroic commitment for the preservation of
our blue Planet, while the International ethecon Dead Planet Award names and shamesthose responsible for its exploitation, destruction and ultimate downfall to a dead,
unhospitable Globe.
The award show of both international ethecon awards 2020 will be held in a public
ceremony:

Traditionell zum Internationalen Tag des Friedens am 21. September verkündet die Stiftung
ethecon die Namen der Empfänger der beiden bekannten ethecon Preise:
Der Internationale ethecon Blue Planet Award 2020 ehrt den Einsatz der
kenianischen Menschenrechts- und Umweltaktivistin Phyllis Omido
Der Internationale ethecon Dead Planet Award 2020 stellt Jeffrey Bezos, den CEO
und Konzerngründer von AMAZON an den Pranger.
Die Verleihung der beiden internationalen ethecon Preise erfolgt in einem öffentlichen
Festakt am 21. November 2020 in der Berliner Kulturbrauerei.
Phyllis Omido engagierte sich mutig und selbstlos gegen das in Kenia verbreitete,
hochgiftige Einschmelzen von Altbatterien zur Bleigewinnung. Sie stellte sich mutig
verbrecherischen Unternehmern und Politiker*innen in den Weg, ließ sich auch von
Mordanschlägen nicht einschüchtern und erkämpfte erfolgreich die Schließung von
Bleischmelz-Anlagen und Umwelt-Schutzmaßnahmen. Die von ihr gegründete und
geförderte Organisation CJGEA setzt sich konsequent für den Zugang zu sauberem
Trinkwasser, die Reinigung der vergifteten Böden und sichere Arbeitsbedingungen ein. Für
ihr Engagement für Gerechtigkeit, Gesundheit, Umweltschutz und die Stärkung
demokratischer Prinzipien zeichnet ethecon Stiftung Ethik und Ökonomie Phyllis Omido mit
dem internationalen ethecon Blue Planet Award 2020 aus.

Il Premio Internazionale ethecon Dead Planet Award 2020 mette alla gogna Jeffrey

I due premi internazionali ethecon saranno consegnati con una cerimonia pubblica il 21
novembre 2020 alla Kulturbrauerei di Berlino.
Phyllis Omido si è impegnata coraggiosamente e disinteressatamente contro la fusione
altamente tossica delle vecchie batterie per l'estrazione del piombo, molto diffusa in Kenya.
Ha coraggiosamente ostacolato imprenditori e politici criminali, non si è lasciata intimidire dai

Los dos premios internacionales ethecon se presentarán en una ceremonia pública el 21 de
noviembre de 2020 en la Kulturbrauerei de Berlín.
Phyllis Omido se comprometió valiente y desinteresadamente contra la fundición
altamente tóxica de las viejas baterías para la extracción de plomo, que está muy extendida

fondateur, le PDG et l'actionnaire principal de l'entreprise, Jeffrey Bezos, au pilori du public
mondial en lui remettant l'International ethecon Dead Planet Award 2020.
Les deux prix ethecon, positif et négatif, sont décernés depuis 2006. Le prix international
ethecon Blue Planet Award, décerné chaque année, honore les efforts exceptionnels
déployés pour préserver et sauver la "planète bleue". L'International ethecon Dead Planet
Award dénonce les personnes qui portent une responsabilité choquante dans la ruine et la
destruction de la Terre, évoquant ainsi le danger d'une planète morte et inhabitable.
