Das auch unter dem Namen „Ecole des Sables“
sector and local development oder „Strandschule von Toubab Dialaw“ bekannte
Internationale Zentrum für traditionelle und
zeitgenössische afrikanische Tänze dient gleichzeitig
DE/ Die Strandschule oder Ecole des als Ausbildungs- bzw. Forschungsstätte, als
Treffpunkt sowie als Ort des Gedankenaustauschs
Sables von Toubab Dialaw zum Thema zeitgenössischer Tanz. Seit zwölf Jahren
organisiert dieses im kleinen Fischerdörfchen
Entwicklung eines Tätigkeitsbereiches und lokale Toubab Dialaw 50 km südlich von Dakar gelegene
Zentrum Praktika, künstlerische Gastaufenthalte
Entwicklung sowie Inszenierungen und Veranstaltungen mit
Tänzern aus Afrika und der gesamten Welt.
Die Schule verfügt über zwei große Tanzsäle, einen
Konferenzraum und 24 im Einklang mit der Natur
und dem Klima vor Ort errichtete Bungalows.

Belgium, the Netherlands, Switzerland, and Arts International (USA). More than twenty
other partners from the public and private sectors have participated in coordinating this
project / der Europäischen Kommission, Bilaterale deutsche, belgische, niederländische // Projektziele
und Schweizer Kooperationen sowie Arts International (USA). Über 20 weitere öffentliche
und private Partner haben die Umsetzung dieses Projekts unterstützt. Die Maßnahmen der Strandschule zielen auf die
Förderung traditioneller und zeitgenössischer
afrikanischer Tänze ab, die als wichtige Elemente
der kulturellen, sozialen und wirtschaftlichen
Entwicklung des Kontinents verstanden werden.
Die Strandschule von Toubab Dialaw möchte :
//Afrikanischen Tänzern eine Berufsausbildung
ermöglichen.
//Die Entwicklung des zeitgenössischen
afrikanischen Tanzes stimulieren.
//Ausbildungsstätte, Treffpunkt und Ort des
Gedankenaustausches des Tanzberufs sein.
//Veranstaltungen, die aus der Verschmelzung
von traditionellem und zeitgenössischem Tanz
hervorgegangen sind sowie andere Formen
künstlerischen Schaffens fördern.
Darüber hinaus setzt sich dieses Projekt auch für
die Förderung des Tanzunterrichts in Schulen ein,
um unentbehrliche Kenntnisse für das Leben, den
Respekt gegenüber der eigenen Kultur und eine
Form künstlerischen Ausdrucks zu vermitteln.
