Art stattgefunden. Ein guter Start für eine
hervorragende Zukunft, wenn man be-
denkt, dass dies die erste Reise des neuen
WUSV-Präsidenten war.
Ein besonderes Dankeschön noch einmal
auch dem Richter Herrn Dux, der durch
Sprach- und Sachkenntnis wesentlich zum
Erfolg beigetragen hat. Nicht weniger er-
staunlich ist die Tatsache, dass der Vizeprä-
sident der WUSV, Herr Dr. Tauber, sich
erstmalig mit einem lateinamerikanischen
Problem befasst hatte, nämlich Mexiko,
und dies auch zum Erfolg führte. Danke im
Namen aller Beteiligten sei dem Gastgeber
Herrn Dr. Payró und seinem Verein gesagt.
Nicht zu vergessen aber ein herzliches Dan-
keschön an die umsichtige und kooperative
Mitarbeit des Präsidenten des WUSV-Ver-
eines, Herrn Simon Murillo Tovar, und der

WUSF and FCI at the same table
A new chapter in cynology is being written. German shepherd dogs
and shepherd dog societies exist in Mexico for many decades.
Repeatedly problems occurred both in the field of cynology and
human interaction. At the end the co-founding member of the World
Union i.e. the Mexican Society for German Shepherd Dogs was
compelled to pursue its activities outside of the FCI since no
cooperation seemed to be possible. The World Union naturally
supports its members but as a worldwide cynology organization is
equally interested in maintaining a good relationship with the FCI and
this is why tensions occurred whenever discussion focused on the
subject of Mexico. Several attempts to alleviate this situation initiated
by both sides so far failed.
In January, however, there was an opportunity to bring the most
important person to one table and to agree upon contractual
modalities of both societies on the occasion of a Pan-American
exhibition of all dog races - naturally including German Shepherd
Dogs – organized by the FCI society. The president of FCI Mr. Müller,
the president of VDH and member of the presiding committee of FCI
Mr. Uwe Fischer and the president of the Latin American Division of
FCI Mr. Miguel Angel Martinez were invited to this American
Championship and to this event as well as the president of WUSV and
SV Mr. Wolfgang Henke, the vice president of WUSV Dr. Wolfgang
Tauber and the manager of WUSV Mr. Clemens Lux.
They were all hosted by the president of FCI Dr. Payró who was also
presiding over this American Championship that took place on an
excellent site belonging to FCI. The jurors were Dr. Tauber and Mr.
Hans-Joachim Dux. Mr. Hans-Joachim Dux has a perfect command of
Spanish and was thus not only instrumental to but virtually

indispensable in all negotiations and conversations that would have to
be otherwise conducted in English. The president of WUSF Mr. Henke
organized the security service required for first class dogs in
Germany.
The negotiating partners were the president of WUSV Mexico Mr.
Simon Murillo Tovar, Mr. Sanchez and Mr. Francisco Icasa and it is
highly appreciated that they were so cooperative. All preparatory
discussions had been conducted by Dr. Tauber and Mr. Lux with their
respective contractual partners. After long and hard negotiations the
parties approved an extensive cooperation agreement regulating the
rights and duties of both societies. In the final stage the negotiations
were presided over by the president if WUSV.
It was a special honor to sit face to face with the honorary president of
FCI Mexico Mrs. von Thaden, the old “Grande Dame” of the Mexican
cynology, who also strongly supports the co-operation. In the final
phase and particularly in the case of many details it was essential that
the management of both FCI and VDH were present since as a rule
many individual conversations are necessary before an agreement of
this significance may be signed.
To sum it up it can be said that a new chapter within the world of
cynology was opened while it is remarkable that both the
management of FCI and WSU were determined to reach a mutually
acceptable solution of these previously existing conflicts. They
succeeded and they may be proud of having achieved that to the
benefit of this dog race and the benefit of all the people that take care
of these dogs. Never before such an event took place and this is why
it is a good start to a bright future – not to mention the fact that for the
new president of WUSV it was his first trip.
We wish to express our special thanks to the juror Mr. Dux who

largely contributed to the success due to his knowledge of Spanish
and specific knowledge of cynology. It is also a surprising fact that the
vice president of WUSV Dr. Tauber dealt for the first time with a Latin
American problem, i.e. Mexico and the he immediately succeeded.
Our gratitude must be expressed also to the host Dr. Payró and his
society. Our cordial thanks go also to the circumspective and
cooperative work of the president of WUSV Mr. Simon Murillo Tovar
and the presidency of WUSV.
The most emotional moment was the signing act when some old and
meritorious members of WUSV who arrived just for that purpose with
moving words thanked the peace makers for what they had achieved.
Let us hope that this agreement will be filled with life and will have a
long future for the benefit of all.

En misión de la paz en Méxiko
La WUSV y la FCI reunidas en una mesa
Se está escribiendo un nuevo capítulo de la cinología. Desde hace muchos decenios
hay Pastores Alemanes y Clubs del Pastor Alemán en México. Con frecuencia
surgían problemas, no sólo en el sector cinológico, sino también en el sector humano
interpersonal con el resultado que al final el club cofundador de la Unión Mundial, el
Club Canófilo Mexicano del Pastor Alemán, tenía que actuar fuera de la FCI, es decir
que la cooperación parecía imposible. Se puede comprender que la Unión Mundial
por un lado apoye su Club y por otro mantenga buenas relaciones con la FCI como
organización universal de la cinología; esto, sin embargo, siempre era motivo de
conflictos cuando el tema de México llegaba a discutirse. Varias iniciativas por
ambos lados han fracasado.
En enero había una exposición panamericana de todas las razas, donde
naturalmente no debía faltar la raza Pastor Alemán, organizada por la Asociación
FCI, que ofreció la oportunidad de reunir las personalidades más importantes en una
mesa para establecer las modalidades contractuales entre los dos clubs. A este
campeonato americano y evento estaban invitados el presidente de la FCI, el señor
Müller, y el presidente del VDH y miembro de la mesa de la FCI, el señor Uwe
Fischer, así como el presidente del sector latinoamericano de la FCI, el señor Miguel
Angel Martinez, igual que el presidente de la WUSV y del SV, el señor Wolfgang
Henke, el vicepresidente de la WUSV, el señor Dr. Wolfgang Tauber, así como el
gerente de la WUSV, el señor Clemens Lux.
El presidente de la Asociación FCI, el señor Dr. Payró, había invitado. También se
hizo cargo de la dirección del evento, es decir del campeonato americano, que tuvo
lugar en un terreno excelente que pertenece a la Asociación FCI. En calidad de
jueces de los Pastores Alemanes actuaron el señor Dr. Tauber y el señor Hans-
Joachim Dux. Hans-Joachim Dux, quien habla corrientemente el idioma español, fue
una gran ayuda para poder sostener las conversaciones necesarias que en otro
caso fueron en inglés. El presidente de la WUSV, el señor Henke, juzgó el servicio
de protección, que se exigió de los perros de primera clase como en Alemania.
Al otro lado de la mesa se encontraban el presidente de la Asociación WUSV
México, el señor Simon Murillo Tovar, así como el señor Sanchez y el señor
Francisco Icasa, a los cuales quedamos particularmente agradecidos por haberse
mostrado tan cooperativos. El señor Dr. Tauber y el señor Lux sostuvieron todas las
conversaciones preparatorias con los respectivos contratantes. El resultado de unos
días de negociaciones largas y tenaces fue un amplio contrato de cooperación que
regula los derechos y deberes de ambas organizaciones; al final de las
negociaciones el presidente de la WUSV ocupó la presidencia.
Fue un honor particular estar sentado enfrente de la presidenta de honor de la
Asociación FCI México, la señora von Thaden, la gran dama de la cinología
mexicana, la cual asimismo apoya la cooperación con gran energía. En la fase final y
sobre todo en cuanto a muchos detalles fue muy ventajoso que la dirección de la FCI
y del VDH estuviera representada, pues ya se sabe que se requieren muchas
conversaciones individuales para finalmente obtener la firma de tal contrato.En resumen se puede decir que se ha abierto un nuevo capítulo dentro del mundo cinológico siendo particularmente digno de mención que la dirección de la FCI y la dirección de la WUSV se reunieron bajo el aspecto de conseguir una solución común de este conflicto. La han conseguido, y todos los participantes pueden estar orgullosos de haberla logrado en beneficio de la raza, pero también en beneficio de mucha gente que se interesa por la raza. Nunca antes había un evento que tuvo lugar de esta manera. Un buen comienzo para un futuro extraordinario teniendo en cuenta que esto fue el primer viaje del nuevo presidente de la WUSV. Otra vez muchas gracias al juez Sr. Dux, quien ha contribuído esencialmente al éxito por sus conocimientos técnicos y lingüísticos. El hecho que el vicepresidente de la WUSV, el señor Dr. Tauber, se había dedicado por primera vez a un problema latinoamericano, es decir México, y que sus esfuerzos estaban coronados de éxito no es menos sorprendente. Gracias en nombre de todos los participantes al organizador, el señor Payró, y a su club. Pero no se debe olvidar darles las gracias de todo corazón al presidente de la Asociación WUSV, el señor Simon Murillo Tovar, y a la presidencia de la Asociación WUSV por su colaboración prudente y cooperativa. Con gran simpatía se podía observar la emoción durante la firma del contrato, especialmente por parte de viejos miembros beneméritos de la Asociación WUSV que habían llegado particularmente para este fin y que les expresaron su agradecimiento a los conciliadores con palabras emocionantes.
